Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpfull. Location of hostel was very near to the historical places, Inside of the building was too old and dirty, but hostel was very clean and safe. It was pleasure to stay there. Only one night we couldnt sleep very well because of the noise of people, they chatted nearly all night in the hostel.

Liked: Amazing, super friendly staff - even made us food and tea and taught me how to play Egyptian games. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay both in Cairo and Egypt. The hostel was very clean, and the showers in the bathrooms were wonderful - even had fans. There weren't any lockers in the rooms, but I was never concerned about the safety of my things as the staff was always around and happy to lock up my luggage in their hallway storage when I was gone during the day. Highly recommended!

Liked: There was nothing too horrible about this hostel- although, when we told the cab drivers the road we wanted to be taken to, they almost always wrinkled their nose. It's just down the street from the Egyptian Museum, and they showed us where to get good koshary (highly recommended!), but other than that, there isn't a whole lot to attract you to the surrounding area. The three of us paid about 20 Egyptian pounds for internet use (about $4 USA), so that wasn't bad at all. However, be aware of the tour to the pyramids- you are paying the hostel for a driver to the different sites, not for going in to the pyramids themselves. If you want to ride a camel, it is really fun, but we paid about 300 pounds a piece, plus a tip for the guide (And be ready to be sore!). Other than that, I can't complain- the staff at the hostel was really friendly and helped whenever they could.

Liked: Great location to explore Cairo; close to everything. Nice staff, very helpfull and they never tried to push their tours. Airport PickUp was free and worked properly! Bathrooms were extremly clean. Just the building (staircase/elevator) is very dirty, but once you are inside the hostel, it's clean. One negative fact: At the end of our stay they tried to "buy" a good rating on hostelbookers (of cause I have refused that offer). I don't know why, because it's a really good hostel.

Liked: Great location right near Egyptian Musuem. Hostel arranges pick up and drop off service to the airport and is very helpful in navigating the arab world for english speakers

Liked: Wake up Cairo was the best! The people were so friendly and helpful. We drank tea with them and learned how to play Egyptian backgammon. They helped us make travel and touring arrangements, and gave us recommendations about places to eat and things to see. THe hostel was very relaxing and a great place to come back to after the activities of the day. We felt right at home, and enjoyed spending time there. It was very clean in both the lobby/living room area, the rooms, and the bathrooms. The beds were comfortable and we had an en-suite bathroom with great water pressure. You can see the Egyptian Antiquities Museum from the windows, so it was very easy to walk around and find our way to the hostel. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to Cairo, and would definitely return.

Liked: WAKE UP Cairo Hostel was a great experience for myself and for my family. The staff here is extremely helpful even at 3am :) , especially Ehap and Mustafa everyone here is very welcoming. If your having problems booking tours or need help getting around the city or anywhere in Egypt..yes I mean anywhere in Egypt staff here will go out of there way to help you have a pleasant stay in Egpyt at very cost efficient prices. So if your looking for a chill, relax and home atmosphere I recommend wake up cairo to anyone and everyone. As for the location, the location is great with city views, overlooking the Nile River next to Egyptian Museum and metro stations. There are plently of shops near by for food, phone cards or shopping and etc. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and safe for any size group...So overall if your looking to stay in Cairo I strongly recommend staying here, when your here you feel welcomed and like family... like I said they are willing to go out of there way to see you have a perfect stay.... My rating for Wake Up Cairo and Staff is A++++++ 200% AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

Liked: Wake Up! hostel staff was extremely friendly and helpful - always smiling even at 1am! The hostel's location was excellent., the hostel itself clean and safe. Breakfast very average but that egg much needed to get through the morning. Nice, cosy social area overlooking Cairo Tower - amazing view at sunset. Overall, a great value for money.

Liked: the building from outside didn't look that nice but once i got into the hostel was surprised! very nice and modern with great staff who are going out of them way to help us for any question or information we needed to have as it was our first time to visit the country. they helped us to arrange our trip to visit petra too with better price than what we got from the travel agency in downtown!the price for the room was very good to the cleanliness and services they offered.highly recommeneded

Liked: There was a real community traveler vibe here. The facility at first seems run down because it's in a high rise in Cairo, but when you visit the facilities in the building they are neat and well kept. They provide great advice and services, listen to them the prices don't get any cheaper outside. There are two community areas that really bring fellow travelers together. I even scratched my name into the guitar.

Liked: The place is nice and clean, showers are powerful. There is a mosque out the back which will wake you up if you are a light sleeper. Location is good for the egyptian museum and its not too far from a metro station. The only problem I had was that I booked 3 nights online and when i only wanted to stay for 2 they insited i had to pay for 3 regardless, so the staff aren't a bit on the sly side. Other Egyptian hostels i've stayed at have been much more flexible. Other than this it's a pretty decent place but it put a bit of a downer on my trip.

Liked: staff good, room clean, showers good, location excellent.needs to have map location accurate and no landmarks given. can be hard to find. it is next door to misibishi motor show room about 5 mins from eygptian museum on ramses street, and is just at the point wher the sliproad onto main dual carriage way is.

Liked: Very helpful staff that don't push their tours on you. However, it is VERY NOISY. If you pay extra for a private double ensuite, your room will be right next to the common room, and staff won't enforce quiet hours. We had a 5am flight, and loud backpackers kept us up all night despite our asking nicely to keep it down- and the staff refused to help us. I won't recommend this place because of that.

Liked: the staff were super-helpful and full of good advice and eager to promote egypt. wake-up cairo is a fabulous place to stay, however the building in which it is situated leaves a lot to be desired and is a bit of a culture shock and in a bad state of disrepair, but look beyond that and our stay was superb.

Liked: We highly recommend Wake Up! Cairo Hostel to everyone!! It located in a good area where you can just take about 5 minutes walk to Egyptian Museum and Metro to everywhere, even you take taxi to most of the tourist spots, it won't cost you much, it's very convenience and budget to backpackers like us! The great thing is the staffs there are very NICE and HELPFUL, you will get a map and introduction from the staff when you check-in, they recommend you the good place to visit and the nice food to eat. Also, whenever you need help, they will try all their best to help you to solve the problem. We rate Wake Up! Cairo 200% (out of 100%) =) Enjoy your stay!
