Liked: The guy on at reception was very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English which was useful as I'd only just arrived in south America. He explained all about how hostels work as this was my first one. I made friends straight away and really enjoyed my one night there.

Disliked: loud music until quite late at night and being a female put in a dorm with all males, but I guess that's just what you sign up for when backpacking on a shoe string.

Liked: I liked how helpful and accommodating the staff were. The breakfast was good, internet was fast, and plenty of space to chill out.

Disliked: Room outside the office is loud all night and morning, so not the best room they have. Also, reservations kept changing from one room to the next, sometimes not even with my friend, but all got sorted in the end.

Liked: Close to a few main places in Quito.

Disliked: It was a bit run down, and the staff weren't too friendly. The room smelt of overpowering petrol or gasoline.

Liked: Staff is very helpful and friendly and Location is great - very close to the Plaza Foch in La Mariscal!

Disliked: The breakfast was ok but very basic.

Liked: The house is big and has lots of character; nice high ceilings. Our double room was a pretty good size. The log fire downstairs is cosy and there were games and books available to guests. Wi-fi connection was really fast and reliable. The location is great for all the best bars (Finn McCool's is right opposite) and clubs, just a 2 minute walk from the main square and loads of restaurants nearby.

Disliked: Breakfast wasn't great and the kitchen looked like it needed a good spring clean. Didn't really want to cook there. The incessant music from the bar would annoy you if you wanted to sleep (it's on from about midday through to the early hours). They could probably do with turning it down a teensy bit, especially since it was just staff members rather than guests in the bar most of the day.

Liked: Good location within the new town but just off the main area to avoid too much weekend noise. Relaxed and friendly. Dog to play with

Disliked: plumped for the 4 bed dorm on my first visit which contained 2 large beds and a bunk bed, alas being the last in I had to have the top bunk, Curses

Liked: Excellent location close to the main restaurants and bars and a short walk from the main public transport links.

Disliked: The security lockers could do with updating as many in the dorm were broken.

Liked: friendly and well-informed staff, good vibe and great place to meet other travellers! lovely fireplace and cute, playful dog!

Disliked: showers were temperamental, noisy on weekends but would still highly recommend it!

Liked: pancakes for breakfast are the best thing about this hostel other than that its nothing special

Liked: the dog!! and the breakfast hours...basically all morning and sometimes all day!

Disliked: a bit noisy, low pressure on the showers and not so clean as desirable...

Liked: The bathrooms were dirty (mold, hair, etc in showers) and there weren't enough for all the people, there was no toilet paper for a while, super loud, mediocre breakfast. It would be good if you want to meet people or party though.

Liked: The price and the helpfullness of the staff. The main thing we didn't like was that the party down stairs didn't stop until about 6 AM! So if your looking for a party this is your hostel. If you looking for a quiet night sleep look elsewhere.

Liked: It could do with a little loving! Ok for price. Be wary of airport pick ups as mine and my friends didn't arrive! Get a taxi instead.
