Liked: Really great place to hang out and do day trips etc from. Staff very helpful and friendly, dvds and books, great value beer! (so evenings don´t drag too much when you´re hiding indoors after dark from the dangers of Quito!) Washing service and luggage storage very good, breakfast better than most in Ecuador. Airport transfers efficient and good value.

Disliked: 8% charge when paying by credit card is a bit steep!!! Suggest you pay cash ;) The tours from the hostel, whilst good, seemed a little expensive; especially when in most cases you then had to pay admission costs etc. on top of this once you got to the place. If you want to visit the equator line attractions and the cable car for example, probably better off just getting buses/taxis, we could have saved a chunk of cash had we known this in advance.

Liked: everything. absolutely perfect for the price, close to the new town but quiet and secure. spotlessley clean rooms, comfy beds, hot showers, a lovely TV room, nice breakfast room, free computer use, helpful staff, the list goes on....

Liked: Family atmosphere, close to central tourist area and near trolle bus routes for both old and commercial town, but away from bars/clubs so quiet.

Disliked: Problem with water (not uncommon in Ecuador) but fixed as soon as reported.

Liked: One of the best Hostels I've ever been! Clean, nice rooms, very safe and the staff is fantastic!

Liked: Great safe heaven and wonderful place to get everything organized for my time in Ecuador. The staff goes at lengths to help with everything you need and do this always with a smile. They have two wifi networks, making sure that at least one works all the time. They sold me a wonderful jungle trip to the Cuyabeno Reserve in the Samona lodge, which was cheap in terms of cost (only 200$ excluding transport to Lago Agrio), but not cheaps in terms of what we got (saw Anacondas, Piranhas, tons of insects, some snakes, and much more). I can only highly recommend this tour and this lodge (wonderful food as good as in Quito, great hot showers, safe place).

Disliked: Monika left no negative feedback.

Liked: We stayed in the family room, which was spacious, spotless,high ceilings and crownn molding. Great breakfast including a hot beverage, fruit, fresh juice, eggs cooked to order, yogurt and bread. Very quiet at night. Family run by Ecuadorians who were very helpful as far as directions, buses, etc.

Disliked: Poor lighting in the bedroom and bathroom. Scratchy sheets. Sometimes the water was not hot.

Liked: It is very secure, the locked gate, locked iron door and normal door to go in. There is the travel agency in the property and offers budget tour. We took a tour to go to the jungle. It was very reasonable price and had a good time. The laundry service as well, which was great for us to do all washing done.

Disliked: We didn't have a problem at all, but while we're staying, two couples in the different day, were mugged in the area where the hostel is located. It is off the main street and it's dark, but I thought it's quiet and secure area, obviously not for a few travellers.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice common areas. Very chill. Two computers with free internet which was nice.

Disliked: Rock hard bed and pillow. No lockers. $1 for the book exchange... kind of weird.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The facilities were well kept and very pleasant. The building was very secure and there was always someone at the desk to ensure our safety.

Disliked: The only thing I would change would be the hardness of the beds. They were like rocks! However the bedding was clean, and there were lots of great blankets to keep us warm, so it was a minor inconvenience.

Liked: Very safe and secure. Reminds me of an old country house in the lake district that has been beautifully restored. Lovely place. One of the best breakfasts (included in the price) we have had on our travels in S.America. And the beds were fine, do not know what everyone is going on about, it was quite soft actually. And also very quiet, we needed it after 30 hour bus journey.

Disliked: Nothing. All good.

Liked: Shower was nice and hot and the room was immaculate. Staff were helpful.

Disliked: Bed was rock hard. The wifi wasn´t working alot of the time and there was only one computer.

Liked: The proximity ofTravellers Inn is very good, close to the airport, walking distance to shopping and restaurants, and to the 25 cent trolley to the historic district and cheap tronsport all over Quito. The staff are helpful/accomidating. It's a family operation, the parents and 3 sons (the sons speak English well) are well involved, invested, and available to help or answer questions. A great value for this secure/gated "hacienda", it has a quaint, relaxed atmosphere, a nice selection of flora in the courtyard, and includes a simple but diverse selection for breakfast.

Disliked: There are a number of small upgrades (old/faded paint and carpet, tilework in bathrooms, iffy electrical connections/outlets and older guest computers...but internet works fine) some persons who travel much would feel needed to be addressed, but these tend to be common/part of local normal lifestyle in many countries of Central and South America. My room was a bit small, but adequate, not as cramped as some of those "micro-rooms" in the U.K. (Sorry chaps, I really do love everything else there and would happily live there, given the oppertunity). I suppose the biggest red flag was that fact that the sheets were not changed during the 3 nights of my stay. I wondered, "how many other guests had slept on the same sheet before me?" But then, how many other private rooms (bathroom down the walkway) are available in Quito for $10 a night?

Disliked: Very hard beds (almost too hard for me), quite pricey for a dorm.
