Hostal Colibrí is a longtime favorite among foreigners in Puyo. It is located in a family neighborhood close to the lively center of Puyo. We have 8 nice rooms (all with private bath and lots of hot water), a great restaurant, internet, cheap international calls, daytrips, and help with projects.

The Colibri (Hostal Colibri) is a relaxed and comfortable place to stay near the center of Puyo, which is the gateway to the Ecuadorian rainforest region. Puyo is the commercial, cultural and political center of the region, but has a population of only about 30,000 and retains the neighborliness and tranquility of a small town.

Our 8 spacious rooms (1-4 people each) face an open patio with a little garden and hammocks. Each room has a private bath with hot water.
Our cozy restaurant offers light meals, sandwiches and vegetarian dishes at night and breakfast in the morning.

Other services include:
- wireless internet and computer rental,
- cable TV in some rooms (upon request and subject to availability),
- inexpensive international phone calls,
- laundry service,
- swimming pool and sauna (next door),
- volunteer placement,
- logistical assistance with projects,
- translation and interpreting services,
- day trips and longer tours, and much more.

The hostel is run by an expat with many years' experience in Puyo, Ecuador and South America.
We work with experienced guides in organizing group trips to Ecuador as well as day trips to local farms, indigenous communities, national parks, reserves, swimming rivers, waterfalls, etc. Over the years we have developed a variety of contacts with many local and international organizations and foundations and we'll gladly provide volunteer placement assistance and logistical help with all kinds of projects.
Directions (how to arrive at the establishment) : From the bus station (terminal terrestre) it is the easiest to take a taxi to 'Hostal Colibri' on Calle Manabi. We are just minutes away and the ride is $1.
