Hostal Doña Esther

Our small Dutch-owned hotel and restaurant in the centre of Otavalo is perfectly located near the Saturday crafts market, the central park (Parque Bolívar), taxies, buses and other points of interest. We have twelve nicely decorated rooms and one larger apartment suitable for 2 persons or a family with small children, all with a private bathroom. Free Wi-Fi for guests.

Our colonial styled Hostal Doña Esther is located in the centre of Otavalo, very near to the famous Saturday Market. The hotel has 12 comfortable, rustic decorated rooms and 1 rooftop apartment, suitable for 2 persons or a family with small children (our room is number 14). All rooms have a private bathroom and all are looking out on the lovely inner garden. Our local staff offer an excellent service and you will certainly feel at home.
We can arrange transportation to and from the Quito airport, as well as a driver for some tours in the area.
Children under 10 stay for free in their parents’ room. Free Wi-Fi for guests is available.

Our well known restaurant Árbol de Montalvo offers a variety of dishes based on the Mediterranean style, with a personal Ecuadorian touch, as well as some typical local specialties. We also serve delicious pizzas, made in an authentic wood burning oven. We prepare our dishes with organic vegetables and use safe bottled water.

Please note that an Ecuadorian "Hostal" is not necessarily like a "hostel". Ours is more like a small hotel.

We're very close to the famous Saturday market and you'll find all attractions in and outside Otavalo very easy to reach: the Peguche waterfall, the Cuicocha lake, the San Pablo lake, The Condor Park, Mojanda lakes, Mount Fuya Fuya, Volcano Imbabura, Volcano Cotacachi and the indigenous villages with their culture and artesanal weavings, just to name a few possibilities. We're happy to give you information about these attractions or arrange your transport.
