Liked: The location-the hostel is situated 500m off the panamerica highway so it is very quiet but all the residents created a very friendly atmosphere.

Disliked: The Food and the service at dinner-ordered chicken wings and some of them were still frozen when they were servd to us. Also, we had to remind the staff about the drinks that we ordered. It took 20minutes just to receive drinks though the restaurant only had 12 people in it

Liked: The hostel is historically significant, as it was once the family home of a very famous figure in Ecuador and all of Latin America. Simón Bolívar --was known as a hero, visionary, revolutionary and liberator. The building itself was over 180 years old.A bus load of young people were there from parts of Europe, so that made for a lively atmosphere and they all seemed to be pleasant and respectful.As far as the surrounding area goes, it would take too many pictures to describe the beauty of this place and even then, it would be inadequate. One could probably find a very nice property here with a modest to very nice house on it for anywhere from 20 to 40 thousand.

Liked: aside from the beautiful surrounding volcanoes, it happened to be one of the historical sites of ecuador..... where simon bolivar started the revolution.

Liked: The atmosphere, the wonderful service, the other travelers, the nice-sized rooms, comfortable beds and hot showers. I want to emphasize the wonderful service -- they go out of their way to be helpful and pleasant and available, no matter what your language. We would definitely recommend this hostel to others. We think there should be more food offerings that are not so rich. And we think there should be consistent heat in every bedroom. The hosteria doesn't say there is heat, so they give an honest description.
