Liked: A really cute little place, more like a hotel than a hostel, and right across from Malecon 2000.

Disliked: The rooms were small (if you care about that kind of thing) and there were no lockers but each person had a key to the room so it was still very secure.

Liked: I am a really harsh critic, but Manso is easily the best hotel that I have EVER stayed at! SO completely chic and stylish! And the location could not possibly have been more perfect...directly on the Malecon 2000! (There is a problem with the Google map, so it seems like the hotel is farther away than it actually is). Staff was REALLY nice and helpful! They upgraded my room for free and I was shocked to see how tastefully decorated the entire place was, even my room has gorgeous original artwork! The bathroom was the BEST I have EVER had at a hostel...it was ultra stylish (even gave free high-quality shower gel, shampoo and LIQUID handsoap!!!!) And certainly the most beautiful, spacious shower in all of Ecuador! Plenty of hot water too. They have a laptop with free internet, as well as a cool cafe with vegan options!! It blows my mind that I got so much for such a small price!! I kept waiting for "the catch", because I assumed something had to go wrong or else this place would be too good to be true...but everything was FABULOUS! Guayaquil is really lame, but if you need to be there, you definitely should stay at Manso!!!!

Disliked: Sheets should have been cleaner. And the bathroom was really stylish, but didn't offer basics like a shelf to place toiletries or a hook for your towel.

Liked: Great location next to Malacon Promenade. Staff very friendly and helpful when possible. Good air-con in rooms.

Disliked: Internet didn`t work the whole time I was there (though Wi-Fi did, I don`t have my own computer). Pipe leaked in my room so I awoke to a wet floor. Bathroom door to our en-suite didn`t close properly.

Liked: Excellent atmosphere, ecological and quiet. and very nice decoration.Pancho (one of the staff members) was really helpful and nice.

Disliked: They don´t have computers available for internet, at night you can use their laptop but at morning and afternoon they are using it. They have wi fi but if you are not carrying your laptop that will be useless.

Liked: We stayed in a dorm and the room was ok - good clean bathroom and a/c. Ok for a quick overnight stay

Disliked: There is a serious issue dealing with hostelbookers bookings - i.e. they cant deal with them. We had 2 issues: 1 - They got our booking wrong, and were adamant that ! booked for 1 person, not 2. We nearly did not have a bed to stay in. 2 - and most importantly, they claim to know nothing about the 10% deposit - they said they had never heard of it. Refused to accept this and over charged us. Very disappointing and seems to be recurring theme from other guests. Beware. Also - no lockers in the dorms.

Liked: The location is superb and decor was interesting and clean, we also got a small upgrade which was nice.

Disliked: Check out was a disaster! Firstly it took over half an hour, and we had a bus to catch. Secondly the hotel refused to say the deposit we paid through hostelbookers should come off the bill. This also happended to our friends. The restaurant is also noisy at weekends so if you need early nights ask for a room away from it. or stay elsewhere.

Liked: Our room was clean and nicely decorated. Location is brilliant, overlooking the Malecon. In-house spa where my partner had a good massage. Breakfast was tasty.

Disliked: The staff, altough helpful, seem to be constantly buried under a mountain of paperwork, and so any request seems to take an age - particularly checkout. Also it's worth noting that 12% tax, and then a further 10% service charge will be added to your bill, which we weren't expecting. The staff also seemed to be unaware that we had paid 10% in advance on hostelbookers (think this is mentioned in other reviews), so worth having the confirmation with you!

Liked: Great location, good atmosphere, nice staff, we had a dorm room to ourselves

Disliked: Guest are not allowed to use the kitchen, rooms are hot, there is wifi but if you dont have your own laptop you are out of luck bc there is no public computer for guest to use, breakfast cost extra

Liked: The location is awesome- right across the street from the malecon 2000. The staff are also wonderful.

Disliked: the shared bathroom reminds me of the inside of a phone booth- very small. it also can be a little noisy at night and if its really hot, there is no AC

Liked: This place and its staff was really nice and we enjoyed staying there. Got offered cold breakfast since we left very early.

Disliked: Nothing to be complained about. Guayaquil itself seems a bit dangerous, but hostel staff arranged radio taxi.

Liked: I was offered "La habitación blanca", which is right next to reception.The noise of people coming and going was terrible, plus there's a small café area right next to the room! They very kindly offered to give me another room with no fuss. The staff were incredibly helpful and polite.

Disliked: If you're a light sleeper and you happen to have one of the rooms that looks out on the Malecón, you might have some "noise issues". The road is extremely busy until about 11pm. I just bought some earplugs and slept like a log!

Liked: The vibe is pretty funky and there are lots of places to just chill out plus the (not-free-with-dorm) breakfast was delicious. BUT when booking online, they only recognized one night (although we had paid for 2) and so we had to change rooms after the first night. The shared bathroom is in the middle of the common area and the dorm rooms lack natural light or good air flow.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.
