Liked: The staff here were great, in fact the best we've had. Perfect english, very welcoming, they show you around and explain everything properly plus give you a map of the area. The private room was really cosy, in nice orange and greens, with a fan and good matress. The cafe area was cute. We liked the animals around the place and the breakfast was good too. Best wifi we've had in SA.

Liked: The overall atmosphere was very friendly, warm and inviting. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The owners were very helpful. French toast for breakfast was a refreshing change from the standard hostel breakfast fare.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The peacefulness restful atmosphere, friendly caring staff, beautiful design lobby, dining, bunker room, strong internet signal, singing birds in cage, great breakfast, did not want to leave!

Disliked: No negative feedback comes to mind.

Liked: The hostel is nice and pretty (even exotic), and quiet at night. They called us a taxi. Good breakfast with real coffee.

Disliked: I didn't feel very safe in that city.

Liked: Common areas

Disliked: Some (not all) of the staff are rude, bedrooms do not appear to be clean and they are too small. It is far away from all touristic places as well as airport and bus terminal.

Liked: The hostel has good appearance, with structure seeming new and well built.

Disliked: The hostel keep several animals in small cages, which I find a counter sense of environmental conservation. The location also is not exactly enticing, but then again, where it would be in Guayaquil?

Liked: I liked that the hostel was in a very quiet neighbourhood. Free internett with Wifi is always nice. Ecuadorian owner was very friendly, as where the other Ecuadorians there.

Disliked: The Canadian/US owner does not make you feel that welcome. Blunt answers and a military style. To many rules that treathen you with fines if you break them, for instance 500us$ for downloading a file. Breakfast is caotic, and the lady that makes the breakfast seems stressed out if 5 people come to eat at the same time at different tables. The pool was dirty.

Liked: I stayed for one week, Nov 1-Nov 6. People were very nice. Lots of nice international tourists.

Disliked: Too far from shopping districts and necessary to go to them for meals.

Liked: A little out of the center (but the busses are cheap), but very friendly and helpful staff. Cute animals, kitchen's fine and rooms are clean. And the travel center atteched is very helpful.

Liked: Staff stayed up to meet me when my flight was delayed and I didn't arrive until 1am. Gorgeous arty feel to it with turtles and fish (and birds, but it depends if you like caged birds).

Disliked: Very weak wireless signal in lounge.

Liked: It´s a good place to stay for one night. We came here as a stop off on our way to Peru so we could catch the overnight bus direct to Lima. The staff were helpful in advising us how to get our bus tickets. Rooms were pretty basic and dark. Upstairs area and lounge were quite nice. We wen´t so keen on the monkey´s and birds in the cages! This place was convienient because it was nearish to the bus terminal (short taxi drive) and there were shops to buy food nearby as they don´t serve food in the evenings. Nice breaky though. Overall, nothing to rave about but good for a short stay.

Liked: The rooms were bright and spacious and the breakfast was very nice (but not exactly big). The staff are very knowledgeable and the location is good for the terminal but not so great for the Marencol. Overall it´s probably a bit overpriced for shared bathroom.

Liked: Overall it was a nice hostel. Not the best but not the worst. The staff were helpful, and the place was done up nicely. The room was a bit hot, but not a major problem. Good value for money, with breakfast included. My main issue was with the monkeys. I didn't actually see them as they were hiding, but apparently there are two small scared monkeys in a cage. This is sick, and had I realised before I'd payed I definately would have found another hostel. I would definately not stay there again for this reason alone.

Liked: Very clean, comfortable beds with hot shower. Breakfast good. Wi-fi in communal areas and 1 computer for free internet. Rooms towards the back suffer from noise coming from reversing lorries at 6am! Fine for a one night stay.

Liked: The hostel is a fair few miles away from downtown Guayaquil in a non touristic suburb (but not according to the biog on hostelbookers which says it's a few minutes away... it's more like an hour by bus or 30 mins min by taxi.) The staff were nice, Chris who was very helpful although I was hinting to use the phone because my credit card had 'gone missing'. I was sent to a cyber cafe. The breakfast was nice. The dorm room was very stuffy and the bathroom was a little dirty. I wouldn't return personally but it was not a pleasant experience for me. Down town near Malecon was much more interesting.

Liked: I do not recommend DreamKapture. -The staff was rude and unhelpful. For example, we asked for a map of Guayaquil, and the receptionist pointed to a map nailed to the wall.-They overcharged me and argued with me about it for 15 minutes, until finally the owner called his wife and realized that I was right.-The bathroom in the dorm smelled like a hamster cage and had no ventilation-There was no hot water in our dorm bathroom or in another bathroom that the receptionist told me to use-We were woken up at 8am the first morning to the sound of a worker scraping paint off a wooden pole. I don`t know why he had to do it so early and right outside our door.-We were woken up at 8am the second morning to the sound of the hostel`s pet parrots squaking outside our window-The internet connection barely works. I couldn`t even check my e-mail on their ancient, snail-paced computer
