Liked: The amount of character and atmosphere in this hostel is fantastic and throw in the incredibly helpful staff - great value for money.

Disliked: Don't use the large dorm if you want to socialise but of course you can do in the their bar. Also WiFi wasnt great unless you were in the bar.

Liked: Really great hostel. Lots of character, great dorms and showers. Clean, safe, and secure. The basement bar was a bonus, great for meeting other travellers and its the starting point of the town bar crawl!

Liked: Overall a fantastic stay! We were extremely impressed with location, room & the breakfast option. Room was lovely and clean, bathroom was fabulous.

Disliked: The First Lady who checked us in was lovely and was of a great help however, a man who was working the night/overnight shift didn't seem like he was too happy to help and we felt more of a hinderance asking questions. Our air conditioning didn't work which meant it was quite hot overnight.

Liked: This review is for the 9 dorm room, where I stayed three nights at the beginning of August. I'd read that the Czech Inn was supposed to be one of the best hostles in the world, so I figured I'd give it a try.For the most part, it doesn't disappoint. The rooms are fairly large and modern, bathroom facilities are similarly modern (excellent water pressure, cold and hot), and there was a very large communal area with a full kitchen and dining table that we shared with another nine-person dorm room. The kitchen functioned fairly well, and there was a nice range of cooking utensils. It's a busy hostel with lots of people, so it's easy to meet people, and the basement bar provides a good starting point, though you'll find better bars at other hostels. Despite the business it's relatively quiet, so as long as you're in good company you should be able to get a good night's sleep. Key-card security for the elevator and dorm rooms helped give the hostel a safe feeling, as did the lockers underneath the beds. There's also a tram stop right across the street, and a couple of small grocery stores facing the hostel as well, which add to the convenience. Staff is helpful and generally quite nice, though no awards for friendliness during my stay. Breakfast buffet is OK: there's a decent array of filling food, including a pancake station, all for a moderate price, but you're not missing much if you skip it.Overall it's a solid hostel with some nice rooms, big communal spaces, and good facilities. I had a good stay and would definitely consider going back

Disliked: Despite it being all around solid, there are quite a few downsides. For me, the biggest one by far was the god-awfully slow WiFi. You can get by doing most basic things like emails and messaging, but browsing photos and even loading newspaper sites could take a while. Forget about watching any sort of video. It was a bit faster in the basement for some reason, and although it is functional, I kind of expected more from them. The location is okay, but really not great. Hard to find a good place to eat less than 15-20 min walk, and only a couple of bars in the vicinity, which may or may not matter to you. Prague is a small city so many sights were still within walking distance, but you'll probably end up relying on public transport more than you would for other hostels in Prague. The nearby tram stop helps in that regard. There were a fair amount of outlets, but individual plugs and bed lights would have been welcome, especially seeing that it's supposed to be one of the best hostles in the world. Note also that the rooms are without air-conditioning, except a basic standing fan. My room was tolerably warm, and opening the windows helped significantly, but another similar dorm room only had one sky-light window and the folks in there suffered a bit. Like many hostles the bathrooms had no windows, so humidity was a problem, and therefore funky smells were also a problem. Again, this isn't unusual for a hostel, but more regular cleaning would go a long, long way. Note that if both dorm rooms are full, up to 18 people could end up sharing two full bathrooms, though for some reason this didn't end up being a problem for me. Also, one of the shower heads did break the day that I left, though they sent someone to fix it fairly quickly.
