VIKRAM BORAHad a lovely stay at Hotel Golden City, Prague in June this year. Location was good... easily accessble by tram (the tram station is right on the road opposie the hotel) As regards the rooms and service, its actually a 2/3 star hotel.. at the price of a hostel. The breakfast was wholesome and well served. The staff were particularly helpful ...they opened up for breakfast half an hour early in the morning since we had a flight to catch! Free internet too. Great value for money and definitely highly recommended. |

Marco FrigerioNice Hotel... Near Tram station... only 4 tram stop between Hotel and Prague Center. Good staff, only the night shift is not friendliness. The Hotel offer a taxi service from Airport to Hotel... good luck with the driver!!! |

Nema NematpourMy group (co-ed, mid-20s) stayed in the apartment. It is RIGHT on the tram route, that means pretty much 24-hr loud noise. If you are a light sleeper or traveling with young children, I wouldn't suggest this place. My group were dead drunk every night, so we generally had no problem falling asleep. The actual surroundings are pretty much nothing, but you can't beat getting directly to the city center in 4 stops! The whole place is a little outdated looking (the the shower head was problematic, though we didn't alert the staff), but it was safe and clean. The breakfast was great and the staff were invaluably helpful! It's the kind of hotel that you don't really meet people at, unless you smoke or hang out in the common areas. All in all, a good deal for a "hostel" that felt more like a hotel. |

Tomasz LabukI'm totally disappointed. We arrived at 8 a.m. and when the receptionist saw us, she started laughing (yes, litterally and rudely laughing), that the check in time starts at 2 p.m, and she wasn't eager to offer anything but her rudeness. Furthermore, it turned out that the hotel is overbooked and that we have to move to another place, at some distance from the Golden City Hotel. When we asked, whether the Hotel will provide us with any means of transport, such as taxi, or at least will give us tickets for the tram, the receptionist said, that it was not her problem, and irritated she rashed through the doors to the staff room. So we ended up standing there in the reception room, wopndering how on earth it is possible, that the guests of any hotel can be treated in such a way. It wasn't our fault, that the hotel is overbooked. In the end, fortunately, we were transfered (actually - we went there by a tram) to the Residece Bene Hotel. Anyway - do not stay in the Golden City Hotel - there are many cheaper, better located places, where the staff know, htat they are fot clients, not the other way round. |

Customer reviewI thought this was a very good choice for a not-so-big budget. It seems to me to be a great balance of close to the centre/ good quality/ good price. Good shower in the room, good toilet + sink, good TV (albeit foreign), good breakfast. Generally all you really need. Only negatives for me were: The double room I booked turned out to be two singles pushed together, with two single sheets overlapping each other, and two single blankets on the bed. Also, the receptionist was in the most unimaginably foul mood when we turned up. Luckily, we didn't get the bad end of it, but the yabbering tourists in the foyer felt his wrath somewhat. But then, te receptionist in the morning was lovely, so I shouldn't really judge it by that. |

Steven McCartneyFree internet, good free breakfast. You can exchange money and buy tram passes. We had booked a triple room, but they overbooked, so gave us a 5 person room which was great. Good looking women working the reception! |
