Liked: Hostel Downtown is very clean, safe and secure. People are very very nice. They do everything to help us to feel confortable. You can bring your food, and cook there with all the others travelers. They organised trips in the town, we made traditional czech soup with Kristian. The Hostel Downtown is very well located, right to the citycenter. I had a great time there and will go there again :)

Liked: I really loved the friendly atmosphere and the helpful staff. I felt really safe here. Kristian is a great social director or whatever his title is. I plan on making the soup that he taught us how to make! I would recommend this place to anyone who says that they are going to Prague.

Disliked: I didn't like how the showers were laid out and how you had to press the button but that's okay. It helped with conserving water I guess.

Liked: The entire staff is kind and helpful. They even made potato soup for free in their fully equipped kitchen/common room. One of my favorite hostels. A laid back atmosphere. I never felt like I was a burden to them. Stay here if you are in Prague. You will not regret it.

Liked: I was very happy with the location; its downtown near shops, monuments, and restaurants. The staff was very helpful and nice l. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and safe. They have free cooking nights and a tour guide named Kristian. He was amazing!!!! He is funny, smart and he even taught us how to cook traditional meals. Breakfast is inexpensive and worth every penny. It was a very delicious meal. I would recommend this hostel 110%.

Liked: Hi, this hostel was recommended me by a friend and I liked it very much, will definitely book again in future as its close to the shopping centres and easy to find. It was comfortable stay, clean bed, nice environment, helpful staff and genuine people sharing the accomodation.

Disliked: ? can't recall anything that I would dislike...

Liked: The best hostel I've stayed in: nice kitchen and common room, nicely furnished and very well located as Prague's highlights are within walking distances. There are also lots of activities organized (Thanks Kristian ;-) the best activities guy ever! ). I particularly enjoyed the Castle night tour. It makes learning fun. Prepare your best walking shoes and your brain!

Liked: The place was great, easy to find right next to a train station and within walk of the old town, charles bridge and heaps of other sites. The room was bigger than we expected (we booked a double room, but recieved one with more spaces, a table and a private bathroom). it was clean and everything. It has nightly activities that are great for meeting people especially if you're a little shy like myself. we made soem great friends. They also have free dinners which you help make every so often. the staff are helpful in general. i would reccomend this place for sure. there is breakfast avaiable in the mornings for a pretty cheap price. it next door to a small supermarket and 5 minutes from a huge tescos.

Disliked: we didnt get towels (but then again we didnt ask, maybe they just forgot about our room?) and the lift is a little scary. soem of the staff members are a little standoffish, but still helpful. kristian was very friendly but a bit full on. and the only other kind of annoying thing is that if you;re in the common room you have to quieten down relatively early (around 10pm)

Liked: Some people complained that it's not close to the center, but those are lazy people! It's about a 10 minute walk to the Old Town Square, but it will probably take longer if you take the street with all the shops. It's a great location, and Kristian is kind of crazy, in a good way. One night we cooked garlic soup, another night we took a night tour which was fun. The best part was it was all free! The hostel itself is pretty cute and the kitchen is nice. It was also really convenient having Tesco a block away, and it stays open until midnight, I think. One day, I accidentally locked my key in my locker, and the guy at the front desk helped me out without a question, which was nice.

Disliked: The bad thing about this place is the shower/bathroom. It smells kind of funky, like old people, and there is absolutely no hot water. I knew that the showers were operated with a push of a button, and I knew you had to push it about every 10-15 seconds (I knew before I came, but I didn't mind). I was expecting hot water, and I even let the water run for about 3-5 minutes before I even got in, because I heard that you were supposed to let the cold water run out before you got hot water. Still, never got hot water, which was a bummer. Also, after my second night, they took my bed and put me in a new room. I mean, they literally took my bed and carried it to another room for a different person and then I had to stay in another room, in a top bunk that squeaked loudly with the tiniest movement. It felt like someone else had a higher priority as a hostel-stayer than me. Why do they get to have my bed? I felt like I should have been given some compensation, like a discount or something for the inconvenience, but all I got was an, "I'm sorry, you're going to be staying in a new room now." Nobody at the front desk every seemed to smile that much, but they did their job, I guess.

Liked: Really cosy atmosphere, nice and friendly people, sound of guitare and piano and exellent goulash with Kristian, the best animator. Awesome, have to try it!

Liked: Downtown Hostel has an excellent location near the train, near supermarket, on a street well located, near the main square. You can do everything by walking! The structure of the Hostel is great: breakfast, equipped kitchen, free wifi, washing machine, spacious rooms, beds are great, the bathrooms were always clean. There's a guy (Kristian), which always makes some interesting programs in the evening with guests at the hostel, I did Prague castle walk was amazing! He showed us the places and things that would be impossible to know and do by myself. Kristian support made my trip much better than I thought! I had a lot of fun there! I really really enjoyed to stay there, was the best hostel in my trip! I will definitely recommend and return soon!

Liked: Great location, spacious rooms and really good self catering facilities. Had free goulash the Friday we were there there, all you have to do is help peel potatoes etc.

Disliked: Showers on our floor were rubbish. As others have mentioned you have to keep pressing a button to keep them running, which would be fine if the pressure was good and the water warm, which they weren't. Not very clean either and not enough plugs in our dorm for eight people.
