Liked: Karlita is such an excellent host. She made us feel at home, as did her staff, who were charming and oh, so helpful. I had two dinners at Karlita's and they were without a doubt the best meals I had during my entire three week stay in Cuba. Breakfasts were wonderful, juice and cafe con leche the best we had anywhere. Rooms were clean, well appointed, tidied up everyday, beds made, everything one might want. I highly recommend Casa Karlita if you're staying in Habana. The best!

Disliked: Had to request towels- not included as a standard service. This was a first for me in Havana at a Casa Particular. Not a huge deal but a little annoying

Liked: Karlita and the girls were so welcoming, caring and thoughtful through out our stay. Karlita has lots of useful advice about Havana and Cuba. The best dinner in Havana cooked every night for us. Lovely breakfast everyday, with freshly squeezed juice.

Disliked: A bit noisy next to the main road.

Liked: We stayed with Karlita for a total of 4 nights and found the place to be absolutely wonderful. The rooms were clean, our bed was made each day, breakfast was delicious (especially the homemade pineapple marmalade) and the rooms were very secure. One day we returned home to find a 20 CUC note on the table that one of us must have dropped in the room and was picked up by one of the staff. Very trustworthy. Karlita spoke good English and was extremely helpful with info, where to go, how much to pay etc. She let us store our bags for 2 nights whilst we went to Trinidad, which was very kind. Perhaps the best thing about Karlita's is her wonderful and welcoming staff. We truly felt like one of the family and were greeted like old friends upon our return from Trinidad. Hugs ensued all round when it was time to leave. I highly recommend this place - we absolutely loved it.

Liked: We liked that the host Karlita treated us like one of the family and gave us really good advice about how to stay safe in Havana and how much we should pay for taxis etc. The casa is in Vedado which is a relatively quiet and safe area and within walking distance of many areas of interest and only a 2.50cuc taxi to parc central for the main sights and also from town a 3cuc bus return to the beach. Karlita's breakfast tortillas are gorgeous.

Liked: Amazing place. Firstly, I cannot be better located, just between Vedado and Centro Habana, with great taxi connections. The staff take care of you from the very beginning. The food is great especially the fish. I went there for 2 nights and ended up staying the entire holidays. 10/10.

Liked: Staff were very friendly. Karlita, the owner, speaks good English. Staff were very obliging about letting my daughter in in the early hours of the morning after she had been out for the evening. They were also very flexible about meals. There is a comfortable lounge wit a balcony where you can watch the 1950s Cuban taxis going past

Disliked: Its not a No Smoking property and is on the second floor, with no lift , which is hard work with suitcases.

Liked: My days in Karlita Hostal have been great.Respect, security, and attention proveded by the staff made feel at home .Iam really enjoyed breakfast, dinner with a particular and inusual quality and taste to find in Cuba.The people was really geat and thanks the hostelbooker to find hostels like that .

Liked: We stayed several nights at Casa Karlita and we loved this place and the people were like a family. The house has lovely colourful and clean rooms and very good food. It is a wonderful place to settle down after your flight and start your journey through Cuba. Your will feel welcome and relaxed and the people of Casa Karlita are allways ready to help you.

Liked: Great place !! Everybody's very nice, always helpful for every request. Rooms are perfect, so is the bathroom, cleaned every day. Food (especially breakfast) is excellent, and the ratio quality/price excellent. The location is quite good and the area is safe. However a bit far from the Center and the Old Town (30 min walk, 10 min taxi).I strongly recommend it for anybody who wants a nice place and helpful people (especially if you don't speak spanish) for one's first visit (and more !) to Cuba.

Liked: the staff of the hostel is great and really friendly. we had a great time, really good and healthy breakfast and dinner. i can highly recommend to stay at this place.only "disadvantage" is the distance to the old town. anyways a cab is only 4 cuc to get to the old town
