Liked: The apartment was full of positive atmosphere. I enjoyed communicating with the Cuban family. The mother was extremely nice and helpful. She kept smiling all the time. They have a safety box with a key, which is a big plus !

Disliked: The location ! even though the hostel is in the modern side of the city but i would enjoy more being close to Havana viaja which is the old havana district. But, i saw some other people who stayed there saying that they were so content with the location. So, it's a matter of preference. and honestly , Havana is a small city and i used to walk around the whole city without even getting tired. But get you a very comfortable shoos !!!! it's a must if you wanna enjoy walking through Havana's streets.

Liked: First of all Iraida is so kind :) I feel like home with Iraida :) and they cleaned the room everyday even though I used the room for four days :) and if u r traveling alone its hard to meet people in Cuba cuz theres no hostel but I met amazing friends from her house and we travelled togeher :)

Disliked: Well at first I didn't like the location but once you know how to get a taxi and find amazingly cheap and nice foods near her house :) you will have fun

Liked: They are the most helpful and open people I ever met. They help you with every issue from watching your luggage to arrange your accommodation and transport to wherever in Cuba.

Liked: It is a great place. I like that the son of the owner speaks English and he give us a good informations. Near are also places with good and cheap food, it is near to the bus station Viazul. Not so close to the center, but i liket it, cus we could take an old car taxi, which was a nice experience. And it is also cheap - for one person not more than 10 nacional pesos (this is less then 0,5 €).

Liked: Good for backpackers who travel alone. Price is good, and around the location is good food for local prices. And walking or taxi to the centre is very easy.

Liked: una casa particular strutturata come un ostello.. in pratica c'è una camera da letto con 2 letti a castello e un'altra con un castello ed un matrimoniale. Loro affittano il letto singolarmente e quindi si condivide la camera con chi c'è, tipico degli ostelli. Se si viaggia da soli si risparmia notevolemte perchè in tutta cuba normalmente non affittano letti singoli ma stanze e le fanno pagare più o meno lo stesso che voi siate 1, 2 o 3. La casa si trova nel Vedado, una zona dell'avana tranquilla e non troppo lontana da locali interessanti. Per andare verso la città vecchia ed il centro si possono prendere dei taxi particular e pagare con peso cubani (10 pesos, meno di 50 centesimi di euro); saranno circa 15/20 minuti. Dal centro poi partono anche i bus per andare al mare. La spiaggia più conosciuta è Santa Maria a Playa del Este. Si parte dal parco a lato del capitolio con bus rossi e si paga circa 2euro e mezzo andata e ritorno (3 CUC=3dollari) A casa non è possibile portare ospiti per motivi di sicurezza. Il bagno è condiviso e pulito. La gestione è affidata a Iralda e al figlio Alessandro che parla inglese, francese e un pò di italiano: brave persone. Viva Cuba!

Disliked: In tutta Cuba internet è un problema. è molto caro (anche 10 dollari all'ora) e molto lento.. Nella casa ce l'hanno ma non è possibile utilizzare il servizio perché hanno un contratto a tempo limitato e serve loro per la gestione delle prenotazioni..

Liked: - Iraida is a really nice person who takes care of you during your trip... - "La casa Iraida" which is the least expensive in La Havana... - You can meet very friendly people (fellow travelers) during your stay.

Disliked: - Nothing, except (maybe), Iit's a bit far if you want to walk to the old havana... (but by bus, it's 1pesos!!)

Liked: Best place ever! Really greate and clean accomodation with lovely and helpful crew. It is also a good spot to meet other travellers.

Liked: It has dorm rooms, which saves a lot of money for solo travelers and provide opportunities to meet people. Alejandro speaks good English and is very hospitable. It is far from the center, but clse to P-4 and 222 bus which takes you to capitolio for 1 peso.

Liked: Iraida and Alejandro are super nice and really went above and beyond to help me through some tough times in Cuba. Their home is a great place to stay if you're on a budget and/or want to meet other travelers in Cuba. It's also really easy to get around Havana from there since it's only a few blocks from the shared taxi route.

Disliked: If you're looking for privacy, this might not be the best choice for you. But I really liked the opportunity to meet other travelers, since this is one of the only places in Cuba I found that does shared rooms this way.

Liked: I totally recommend this hostel. Iraida, Alejandro and his uncle were so nice. Even the women who lives across the next door Mari Antonia!!!They were hospitable and helpful. I'll definitely go back to this hostel when I get back to Cuba! It's kind of far from the center but you can always take the taxi at 10 cup (moneda nacional) which is amazingly cheap!

Liked: The location is perfect for travellers to see Havana, you can get around very esily to all the different places. Its clean, private and above all its so safe! Unlike many hostels in Havana and Cuba as a whole you can really trust this family and they will bend over backwards to help you and make you feel comfortable. Don't be scared off by their warnings and advise its the best you will be given!

Liked: Iraida and Alejandro were so welcoming and so hospitable. They helped me with everything I had a question about, and the food is great! I love the neighbourhood, Vedado is REAL Havana, and if you don't see it you won't understand Cuba. Thank you so much!

Liked: Iraida and Alexzandro helped me out in a HUGE way. I arrived in cuba with the wrong currency and they did everything in their power to help me- like calling a hundred different embassies!Definately the bes tplace to stay in havana if u are looking at staying in a casa particular. very safe area, Iraida will give u great advice on places to go out and directions for everywhere. Met some great lifetime friends and Havana would have been totally different for me had i not stayed here!two thumbs up!thanks my cuban mum:)

Liked: This is one of the few places in Havana where you can sleep in dormitory room. In here you can meet other travelers but you can also live with cuban family. This place combines the good sides of a hostel and home accommodation. The neighborhood is really nice and it's easy and fast to take a collective taxi to the old Havana with less than half a CUC. Everything around this neighborhood is a lot cheaper than in old Havana and you can eat nice pasta meals with 1-2 CUC just around the corner. Iraida's son speaks English very well and you will get all the help you need. The family is great and I miss Iraida already. Go here if you wanna experience real cuban life!
