Hobo Bear Hostel

Hobo Bear is a modern, laid back hostel, ideally located in the historic center of Zagreb within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions, shopping, bars, restaurants and nightlife. It's easy to reach from the bus and train stations as well as from the airport.

Hobo Bear found its perfect spot in a typical downtown street dating from the beginning of the last century, named after the renaissance painter Medulic. Like renaissance was all about the 'Man', Hobo Bear is all about its guests, whether they are travelers, backpackers, explorers, modern day hobos, adventurers or simply people looking for some fun.

In our neighborhood you can find everything a traveler might need - pharmacies, ATMs and exchanges, a post office, supermarkets, an open market, as well as places to eat for everyone's taste.

Not only the location was carefully chosen to fit the travelers' needs - Hobo Bear is 'traveler-tailored' from the inside as well. In an authentic 100-year old building we created a unique place with a modern soul where you start feeling 'at home' the moment you come through the door. We like to say it is big enough to gather a party team, yet small enough to offer cozy, warm and friendly atmosphere.

We accommodate our guests in comfortable dorms and private rooms, waiting for you to fill your batteries between your roaming adventures and parties. In our spotlessly clean bathrooms you can take a hot shower 24 hours a day and in our fully equipped modern kitchen you can sit down and talk to your new buddies with your mouth full of warm cooked food.

One place that really gives Hobo Bear its special character and atmosphere is our unique, cozy common room - with original brick walls and arches it resembles an old wine cellar or a castle, with a big difference in temperature, of course :-) It is the heart of our hostel - its a living room, lounge, a place to relax, listen to music, read a book or write one, watch a film, surf the free Internet, hang out, meet people, share a beer with your new friends, contemplate over a cup of tea, read you future from a coffee mug, fall in love, a perfect place to kick-start your night of club and bar hopping ...you choose what's it going to be for you...

• If you are arriving after 11:00 pm or before 8:00 am, please contact the hostel directly by phone or e-mail before you make your booking.
• Please note that our private rooms are located in a separate quiet building just a few steps from the main one, with their own kitchen and bathroom. Of course, guests staying in private rooms are more then welcome to use all the facilities in the main building as well.
• Regrettably, we can not take bookings for guests under the age of 18 or over the age of 40, unless otherwise agreed in advance. We reserve the right the refuse any bookings that fall outside this criteria.
• No curfew, no lockout

Location Information

From our doorstep Zagreb is easy to explore. Just a couple of steps away is the Zagreb's busiest shopping street Ilica and in less than 10 minutes walk you can reach all of Zagreb's top sights, as well as museums, antiques market, vibrant terraces in the Flower square 'coffee zone', top bars and clubs. And when you decide to go exploring the popular places outside the city centre - the tram station is just around the corner!
