Liked: Although it's not right close to split it's surrounded by beautiful mountains in a lovely village with everything you need, one of the hostel owners glyn is always happy to do the free run and pick up to split and I loved every minute of staying with them, they make you feel so at home, offering to cook lovely meals really cheap. I really recommend it and the pool is awesome! If ever I went back to Croatia I would 100% stay here again.

Liked: Kamena Lodge is a fantastic place to stay! I was only due to stay one night and ended up staying for 8 days!!! The owners Glynn and Ann are wonderful people who make you feel so much at home. They 'bend over backwards' to ensure that your stay is amazing. Its just like being part of a large family. Glynn took us to watch Hadjuk Split play football and to amazing waterfalls. Ann's cooking is totally amazing and they cooked a gorgeous traditional Croatian dish one night. Its so peaceful and relaxing and the village is so friendly. It doesn't matter that its just outside Split because it only takes ten minutes on a bus or Gynn gives you a free lift in at 10am and picks you up at 5pm. Its also cheap in a taxi if you want a crazy night out or buses start at 5.30am if you see the sunset and sunrise!!!The pool is so beautiful and relaxing. I had the best laugh staying there and i will recommend it to all my friends. You would be crazy to stay anywhere else.... Lisa from London

Liked: Wir, ein deutsches Paar (30 Jahre jung) hatten eine tolle Zeit! Wir waren 2 Nächte dort um uns Split anzuschauen und dann Freunde zu treffen um für eine Woche ein Ferienhaus zu mieten. Kamena Lodge ist klein, familiär, international (wir haben Touristen aus Neuseeland, England und den USA getroffen) und Glynn (Ann war auf einer Hochzeit in England) hatte immer ein offenes Ohr, hat uns tolle Tipps gegeben und dafür gesorgt, dass wir eine fantastische Zeit hatten. "Hostel" ist das falsche Wort - es ist ein Stück Heimat. Wir empfehlen es jedem, der für ein paar Tage oder länger in Split abtauchen möchte.

Disliked: Es ist leider etwas schwierig zu finden, aber Glynn hat uns im Nirgendwo mitten in Split aufgesammelt. Ein toller Service.

Liked: How lovely and inviting glynn and ann were and you felt at home and there was no awkwardness.the entire lodge was clean and tidy.it was in a beautiful quiet area and they had nice outdoor eating area and pool area.perfect setup will def return again some day.they really know how to treat their guests with respect, i really didnt want to leave :)

Liked: I can't recommend this property enough. It had everything we wanted from accommodation - very clean, comfy beds, fab swimming pool, high quality food available, access to kitchen. Although the property is not in Split itself, Glynn took us to Krka waterfalls for a day and also to the ferry port to meet our boat - nothing was too much trouble. Glynn and Ann were absolutely incredible hosts; we really felt that we were staying with friends not strangers.

Liked: Our stay here was fantastic. Ann and glynn have set up an environment that is very homely and comfortable. The location is a little out of town but glynn drives you down to town each day so it's not a problem. Ann prepared a delicious BBQ dinner for us to enjoy and we all sat around and chatted all night. Also fantastic to relax by their pool. Thanks for a wonderful time!

Liked: Ann and Glynn were very knowledgeable about Split, they were helpful and very friendly. the kitchen was always clean and the pool was nice. Being out of Split and in Mravince meant it would have been difficult to commute bac and forth but they offered a daily shuttle service into town which helped me out enormously

Disliked: I liked the idea of a guesthouse rather than a hostel, it's a special type of accommodation for sure but maybe one more suited to families or couples rather than single travellers

Liked: What a find! More than just somewhere to stay, Kamena Lodge made us feel at home for our whole stay! Couldn't ask for anything more. Beautiful place, lovely people, great food, amazing hospitality and tonnes of fun. Just perfect.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike. The property is just outside of Split, however this has no effect due to the excellent daily drop off and pick up service that is provided.

Liked: Kamena Lodge is located in the village right next to Split. It is a beautiful, quiet alternative to staying in the city center. The owners are extremely friendly and create a comfortable atmosphere that make you feel you are staying with friends rather than a hostel. A daily shuttle provided by the owners will drop you off in town or at the beach at 10am and pick you up at 5pm. There is a pool at the hostel if you prefer to just sit asnd relax for the day. A bus stop is close by if you choose to go into town or return independently. There is a shop and a pizzeria less than 100 meters from the hostel and a large shopping center about 2 kms away if you would prefer that. Upon arrival by train, bus, or ferry, there is free pick up, arrival at the airport incurs a small fee. There is also free drop to the ferry, train, or bus stations, again airport drop off incurs a small fee. A day trip to Kirka National Park is offered, which is an amazing experience and is half the cost than it would be through a tour company in Split. There are waterfalls and you spend the day jumping in and out of the water. The best part of Kamena Lodge is the owners. Ann & Glynn go out of their way to make every guests stay as comfortable as possible. In the evenings, they invite you to play a game of cards or another game such as Cranium. They are very informative about traveling through Croatia and Bosnia and free internet is provided. I cannot rave enough about this hostel. I have been staying in hostels for 12 years, and this is the best experience yet.

Liked: Kamena Lodge was a great start to our first trip to Croatia (we will definitely be coming back). Ann and Glynn were very welcoming and go out of their way to make guests comfortable and enjoy their holiday. The location was perfect for us, we had rented a car for the 10 days we were out there, and thanks to Ann and Glynn's directions we found Kamena Lodge easily. It was only a 20 minute drive from the airport and about 10 minutes to get into town, where Glynn had recommended a good car park situated next to the market that leads down to the port. Kamena Lodge is a beautiful Croatian property and is very well equipped with a relaxing swimming pool area and a large clean kitchen, of which guests have full use of- Ann even made sure there was a shelf for us in the fridge and offered us some fresh figs (first time I have tried one). We stayed in a lovely clean double room, with a very comfortable bed and good en suit shower (towels provided). Our room and the Lodge were so lovely that we decided to book again for the last night of our trip. On our return Ann and Glynn were keen to hear about our travels, and that night we stayed up chatting and sampling some of the local drinks! :-)

Disliked: Absolutely nothing which is why we have given Kamena Lodge a 100% rating and have already recommended it to our friends.

Liked: The best atmosphere of any hostel I have been to, Ann and Glynn are fantastic hosts and I met some great people while staying here, which as a solo traveller was very important to me. Also gave a lot of help and advice on tips of where to go in split and the surrounding areas. Fantastic place to stay, I would definitely recommend it and hope to go back in the future

Liked: It was a nice clean comfortable property. I think they could make it more comfortable by: more towels, soap, shower rack for soap and shampoo. and extra pillows.

Liked: Kamena Lodge represents Ann & Glynn's own brand of hospitality borne, they say, from their own travel experiences. An expat British couple, who settled in Croatia after traveling, they have set up a very welcoming, clean accommodation just outside of Split in a small village. On arrival were were warmly greeted and shown the facilities which included an outdoor pool, outdoor eating area with a well-stocked honour-system bar, kitchen area where guests can prepare food and spacious en-suite room. There is also a smaller dorm and other private rooms. Because of the more remote accommodation location, options for food are limited to a small village shop and apparently excellent pizza restaurant, although we contented ourselves with some shop supplies. If you are socially inclined, however, I'm sure most nights are no exception to the one we stayed, where you'll be invited to share the company of the hosts and any other guests to a friendly game of cards - we certainly enjoyed the social aspect and beer and conversation flowed well. Breakfast is available for a reasonable extra cost and for those without their own transport, Glynn offers a shuttle service into the main town every morning at 10am. They also offer day trips in the region and a BBQ from time to time. We were also able to use the internet for free. Although the location is out of town, the shuttle service and day trip options would make this a very good budget option for exploring the area, along with the hosts' welcoming and friendly approach. There is no air-conditioning in the rooms, however, this is made clear and at the price, should maybe not be expected. We would certainly stay here again if ever in the area, if only to try and master the house 'rummy' game!

Liked: Glynn and Ann who run Kamena Lodge were incredibly helpful with tips from bus times to the safest way to cross the road! The accommodation was clean, comfortable and had a nice pool to dip in when it got hot. They laid on a fantastic BBQ (with great homemade wine) and a nice breakfast. The pick up from Split airport was really helpful, they greeted us straight off the plane! Kamena Lodge is great place to stay and a wonderful way to start your trip.

Liked: Had a great time staying at Kamena Lodge (2 nights). The owners Gwyn and Ann were extremely helpful and organised us a very affordable and fun day trip whitewater rafting in nearby Omis. The room was pleasant and very clean. Kamena Lodge itself was a really fun place to stay and the facilities, such as the swimming pool are amazing considering what we paid. If I were planning a trip to Croatia again I would have liked to stay here longer!

Disliked: Would have liked A/C in the room, despite the fan it was very hot at night.

Liked: Fantastic hostel/lodge - would recommend to everyone and anyone. Slightly out of the main, busy area of Split, which is just what we needed after 7 days on Sail Croatia. Buses are easy, so getting into town is no problem at all. Glynn and Ann were like family, and the hostel had such a warm, friendly and relaxed vibe that we didn't want to leave. They went out of their way to ensure we were ok - Glynn even put our backpacks on our backs at the airport! A true credit to the Hostelling industry; you should both be proud of the amazing property you've set up and we wish you all the best for your future travel and life adventures.
