Liked: Nice balkony and kitchen, in the very center of the city which is quite convenient.

Disliked: The fact that female bedroom can be accessed only by crossing another bedroom which as I saw was a mixed type bedroom. Now, this would not be a huge problem however female bedroom doors cannot be locked thus creating some security issues. In the night I stayed there we were only two people in the hostel, me - a 50kg-weight girl and a grown-up male in the mixed dorm bedroom. Doors cannot be locked between these two rooms. None of the administration is present during the night as far as I noticed. Though nothing bad happened to me this time, administration should put more effort on planning what they are placing in each room and whether that placement can cause some security issues - no one ever knows what kind of persons will arrive in the hostel. That night I did not feel very safe as in case the guy would be actually aggressive, I simply would not be protected by anything.

Liked: Great location, walking distance from everything! Good atmosphere!

Disliked: Did not get our deposit for the room key back because they couldnt find what they had done with it as we gave a deposit in Euros and not Kuna. The dorms were a bit cramped 10 girls with big backpacks in a small room as you can imagine is a bit tight!!

Disliked: put in apartment across the road, up 8 flights of stairs and no lift.. not really ideal, and therefore no tv and wifi etc...

Liked: Location was nice decent common room with magazines books tv etc clean

Disliked: No hot water only one femail toilet (compared to 3 male ones) small kitchen/ tiny fridge small outdoor area really expensive

Liked: the cleaning of the kitchen took over half hour near lunchtime, and nobody was actually cleaning in that time, but the cleaning gel was sitting all over the kitchen making it impossible to use.After 11 there is a "security" (?) man smoking and sleeping in the common room... kinda weird stuff to me... and the place don't have "proper security systems" (let's say so). I didnt really feel being very safe...The room was the smallest I have ever seen!! we had something like 30 cm of corridor between a bunk bed and the other.... other rooms were nice though, so you may try your luck.they have free wifi (if you are lucky catching the signal), and a nice little balcony. and it is a colorful place. up to you now!

Liked: It was nice and brightly furnished, in a good location and had a nice common room for socialising with people.

Disliked: The owner was late so we had to wait a while for her to turn up and there wasn't much room for securing valuables.

Liked: The staff were very kind and helpful and made me feel welcome. The building is colourful airy and light and the air conditioning in the room was very welcome. It had all the services one needs: internet, kitchen, washing facilities and it was in a great location. It was altogether a pleasant environment to be in.

Disliked: The kitchen is rather small and at one point there was no toilet paper in any of the toilets which was a bit difficult for everyone.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Eventhough we booked and paied the deposit for 3 beds, the hostel was overbooked and we had nowhere to stay. They said they would find us a different hostel but we ended up staying in the lounge room of some strangers house on a dirtly pull out bed 10 mins walk aways. We were locked in for the night and coud not leave until until 10 am the nest morning when the owner come back to let us out. The lady at hostel reception was too busy eathing, drinking beers and smoking to care less. Oh and we still had to pay full price!! Thanks for nothing.

Liked: Good location and looks like it has been newly redecorated. A few fans in room which helped keep it cool.

Disliked: Reception staff do not arrive until after 12pm, we had to sit outside the reception for hours waiting for them (as check out is at 10.30 we though that the office will be open then, we thought wrong). No locks on doors, front of hostel or rooms so anyone can walk in and out at any time. Shared bathroom with male and female but shower blinds are a bit see through, glass between showers that you can see through, and always out of tolite paper. Cleaning staff came into the rooms to change beds while everyone was still sleeping and made so much noise it woke up the whole room. They were very rude.

Liked: Hostel seemed nice and clean

Disliked: The hostel was really nice and seemed to be exactly as described on the website, however, when we arrived at 11am for check in there was no one there so we returned at 2pm to find that our beds had been given to someone else and tha we had been relocated to another apartment. this was ok but we were disappointed not to stay in the actual hostel.

Liked: The location was good walking distance to the centre and to the beaches. Rooms were cool as the windows were open and there were fans. Had access to a small kitchen with some facilities and the bathrooms were clean. Staff were able to give good information about cheap local food.

Disliked: Showers were cold at times- but not too bad if you have been in the sun all day.

Liked: near centre of activity

Disliked: booked a bed but apparently when i arrived, they have gave the bed to someone else and i have to spend the night in the common room. told me it would be private, but i've got ppl walking in n out of the room in the middle of the night. apparently the hostel was overbooked. and 6 others people with bookings are without a bed. really bad management. receptionist open really late in the morning. there was a crowd waiting outside to checkout.

Liked: It is very closed to the centre of Split!

Disliked: There is a pure Chaos and a bad communication, -this hostel is not organized at all! The first night I stayed, I had to sleep at the common room, eventhough I made a reservation on the internet. Second night, they removed my clothes from one to another room, which was a mixed dorm for 12, eventhough despite paying for a female dorm for 4.

Liked: Nice location.

Disliked: Very busy. The woman more or less told me she'd get me a room for the second night, with her or across the street. So I did not look early for my second night. Then that morning, she said there was nothing, not her fault....53 bookings in 44 beds! Then that night when I got my bag, she was letting other people stay without reservations. Very frustrating.

Liked: Very clean and great location. Very friendly staff eager to help you in any way and suggest things to do around split. One of the top hostels i have stayed at on my trip. Highly recommend staying at Placida Hostel.

Disliked: Only thing i would reccomend is having a sign that says Placida Hostel instead of just Hostel.

Liked: The location was very good, and the toilets and showers, rooms and beds were all very clean.

Disliked: The people who ran it were a bit highly strung, upholding a pretence of a relaxed environment when actually they became quite angry at us for doing nothing. We were accused of getting drunk when we werent, accused of blocking the toilet when we hadnt and accused of leaving the air con on when we didnt even know how to turn it on. She threatened to charge us or kick us out. Further, the security guard who was there at night was also quite confrontational and odd, making many of the girls we met their quite uncomfortable.

Liked: well nothing

Disliked: Total Mess... 1.no hot water 2. cleaning ladies shout every morning(believe me you wont be able to sleep) 3.Night keeper is very disrespectful towards people 4.Owners can easily lie to people, I demanded to stay more and they said yes.In the morning they reserved my bed to others . 5.Very bad wifi..ownersneither know anything about wifi , nor they try to solve problem In short ıt doesnt worth your money..Please go and stay somewhere more decent!

Disliked: There was very limited hot water and so the showers were often freezing cold.
