Liked: Great location (if you can deal with lots of stairs!) and nice owners who give you a lot of useful information on arrival

Liked: The room was large and had air conditioning. There was a communal kitchen with fridge-freezer, hob, sink, cupboards and table and chairs. I was collected from the bus station within 15 minutes of arriving, which was excellent. Being told about places to go and things to see was really helpful, as was being given some maps.

Disliked: I only managed to get a handfull of channels on the TV. Apart from other guests, no one lives at the property, so it is in effect self-catering. My room was on the ground floor, so there was no view.

Liked: Amazing views over Split! Nice double room with air con. although there was a language barrier with the main owner, he did his level best to try and communicate information to us, there was a younger guy also working there who did speak English well and was more than happy to help. Gave out a detailed map of the city and advised us on different places to visit. There was a cute dog there to welcome you every day. good value for money. would definitely recommend this place!

Disliked: a few steps up a hill but nothing to worry about.

Liked: Very well appointed, recently refurbished and conveniently located accommodation. The air conditioning provided a welcome break from Croatia's sweltering heat.

Disliked: Rooms are fairly small, however the standard of accommodation more than makes up for this.

Liked: Very friendly, Miki collected us from the bus station, and was very trusting and helpful, suggesting local bars and places to visit0. Good sized room with stunning views down to the city, and balcony. We felt safe, well looked after and comfortable. Plus discount on the internet cafe.

Disliked: Would have been good to have somewhere to prepare our own food.

Liked: clean, cozy, nice kitchen, very nice air conditioning!, not far from the center, close to some good restaurants. Neighborhood had a lot of character with some great views of the ocean.

Disliked: uphill to get there so be prepared to sweat during the middle of a summer day. no wi-fi if you want it. Miki speaks very little English so practice your German (although, she is very friendly anyway).

Liked: nice location with lots of space outside on the teresse.

Disliked: We had problems with the room. Was supposed to be for two people, but it was actually only a bed for one person. They gave our room the wrong people and couldnt solve the problem. That was a bit a pity.

Liked: We got room with balcony 10 minutes walk from the Split promenade and 10 minutes walk from the beach. Room was with balcony with a port view. Very good location. Air conditioner was very useful. Landlord was very friendly, met us on arrival in Split port, provided us with information on Split and surroundings.

Disliked: The only thing we noticed would be good is clothes rack or smth like that to be able to dry swimwear after beach and other clothes.

Liked: Very good location: 10 minutes walking (ehh... rather climbing) from Split center, in a calm side street on Marjan Hill, with some true local atmosphere. Well equipped apartment: we booked for a double room with private bathroom, which turned out to be a studio apartment with a decent bathroom, a well equipped kitchen corner, airconditioning and an LCD TV - it's very comfortable for two persons. Almost brand new: the apartment (probably the whole building?) has apparently been completely refurbished/modernised very recently. Quietness: there was no street noise at all, other guests were practically unnoticeable (the apartment is on the first floor of the building while the ground-floor is occupied by another double room of Miki&Ana's), it's only the local neighbours who sometimes made themselves heard (their teracce is just below one of the windows) and you could always hear - albeit very distantly - when there was a musical performance on the Riva at night (which was quite often, however) - anyway once we closed the windows outside noise didn't disturb us at all. The staff was very friendly (although we met them only twice: first upon arrival and then when we checked out) and we could easily communicate with them in English. As guests of Miki&Ana's we enjoyed a 50% discount in a nearby internet café, which was very useful for us.

Disliked: There were only few minor issues that could have made our stay even more enjoyable: A somewhat stronger airconditioner would be handy: during the day it needed quite some time to make inside temperature tolerable (even if you turned it on to maximum level). The refrigerator (a small, built-in fridge) is a little bit noisy, which could be annoying at night (we sometimes turned it completely off for the night). A very useful innovation would be to equip one of the balconies (the apartment has two balconies, although none of them has a nice view) with a whatever simple facility for drying clothes (e.g. a simple clothesline): it would have been so obvious to dry our swim suits and towels on the balcony but we couldn't fix them outside (and the wether was often quite windy).

Liked: It was well situated and the owners were friendly. The room was extremely adequate and very clean. Perfect for a one night stop over but would not stay for much longer.

Disliked: The atmosphere was not the greatest, however, I really cannot complain for the price paid!

Liked: THe proprietor came and met us at a pre arranged place and walked us to our room. He was helpful in telling us where to go to eat and shop etc. The room was very nice, most comfortable bed we had stayed in all trip, nice aircon too. It would have been a good place to stay more than one night!

Disliked: not staying long enough

Liked: Amazing guest house! We paid 18euro for a double room and got a brand new room ensuite, which seemed more like a 3-star hotel: A/C, Flatscreen TV, bathroom (everything very modern) and super clean, quiet, just great. We called the guest house when we arrived in Split, and we had to walk around 5-10min to meet the son of Miki and Ana, and he lead us to their "second" reception (not the main one) which is in an internet cafe. Then we got this really great room - unbelievable value for money... We were really close to the main promenade of Split, and around 20min walking from the beach. If you want to have a really good cheap sandwich you should try "Pop-Eye", which was close to the promenade.

Disliked: Nothing to complain about, everything was as described (or probably better!).

Liked: Proximity to the the Old Town. Safe area. Quiet area although you can hear other people in the flat. The bathroom was only shared by 2 rooms, so a maximum of 4 people per bathroom. Lovely owner.

Liked: Ana & Miki are fantastic and friendly people who make you feel welcome...(although if you speak German, life is much easier!). We had a lovely room with the best view of Split, easy walking distance to the town, beach and transport. Totally recommend this place!

Liked: Good location and a nice, quiet street.

Disliked: The owner only spoke German and had to pick us up from the train station, when we could easily have walked it if we had been given directions.

Liked: We had our own little appartment a few doors away from the guesthouse, which was brilliant because it was self contained, secure, with a good shower room and all kitchen appliances if required. Although it was up a slight hill outside you had amazing views of the town and harbour.

Disliked: Very little but if i had to be picky.....decor is a tad dated and we had a slight language barrier with Ana as she mainly speaks German and we didn't but she is so lovely and patient that we overcame this with good old fashioned gesticulation and bits of english!

Liked: The property was clean and best of all had air conditioning. The beds were also comfortable.

Disliked: We couldn't get hold of anyone when we arrived so trekked to the only address we had in the red hot sun with our luggage to find our accommodation was on the opposite side of town.

Liked: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Miki and Ana, they made us feel very at home, gave us drinks on their terrace and took a lot of time to talk to us despite the language barrier! Really lovely people. We wished we were staying there when we returned to split later in our holiday but they were fully booked. The Goran Ivanesevic poster was marvellous.

Liked: Very close to city center. Clean, good kitchen and has TV.

Disliked: The address of the other house never appears on their website. Miki doesn't speak english and didn't have change, so we had to pay more than indicated on hostelbookers. They didn't offer us the snacks nor the maps, as indicated on the website.

Liked: Very friendly owners, Miki picked us up in the town and took us to our apartment. We forgot some things in the room and when we came back after four days they had been kept for us.
