Liked: We booked a twin room but ended up with an apartment (at no extra cost), complete with basic kitchen facilities and lounge, bathroom and bedroom. The location was okay - about a 25 minute walk to the old town, or a short bus ride. Parking was on the verge, which was suitable for me.

Disliked: I couldn't find the advertised wireless internet, but we were round the back of the building, rather than inside the main building so possibly it didn't reach there. As with other basic accommodation like this, it's often the case that you don't see any staff after you check in, so it's hard to get questions answered, such as where the wireless internet is available. Fortunately here we were briefed when we arrived about location of supermarket and buses, etc. There was no obvious sign at the building to indicate it was Government. The price was okay, because I found Split an expensive place to get a private room at all.

Liked: Nothing really good to say about the place, as we weren't where we expected to stay and paid a lot of money for just a bed.

Disliked: When we arrived to the location, the woman, Nena, asked when we made a booking, and I had to log on to my email to show the confirmation. She said she had an apartment 7km's out of Split we could stay in, and called someone and just started abusing them, then hung up. She then said she had another place we could stay in, with an amazing view, and called someone and they came and got us and took us to an old ladies apartment where we would stay. Not good value for money.

Liked: Good satellite tv, big room with access to balcony.

Disliked: It's basically staying in her house, her clothes were in the wardrobes and cupboards. She has an extremely loud voice and was quite intimidating, we felt quite on edge. It didn't have air con even though it said it did... Not a particularly useful location for town or beach, but accessible from town easily by bus. Sharing a bathroom with the owner... Not the best.

Liked: The owner is very funy and kind! Accomodations are 20 min walking from the old part of the city and from the sea.

Liked: Excellent value for money, rooms are of a good size etc. Maybe best for groups rather than single travellers. Outside of the city centre but no more than a 20 mins walk, or a quick bus ride.

Liked: I had the best time at Hostel Nena. Split is an amazing city with wonderful people.the lady who runs the hostel is very nice and helpfull.our room was very spatious and tidy, everything is very clean and nice.The amazing thing is that the beach id very near and the bars to go out in the evening and only very near town centre.

Liked: The rooms are owned by a lovely family who is extremely kind, generous and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were fine and very clean. The location is excellent, about a 10 minute walk from the town centre. We would recommend staying here.

Liked: The owner is quite originell. She praises her rooms a bit too much. She also complaint that we got our booked rooms too cheap. The instructions how to get there were also very poor for people travelling with their own car. The room was clean and for one night stay, before leaving to airport, it was a good choice. And the room was cheap.

Liked: I had a great time at Split. It is a beautiful city with beautiful people, and the lady who runs it was really nice and helpfull.The hostel is very clean and close to city center.

Liked: Big apartment, but because it was revamped just recently it wasnt very clean or decorated. I wouldnt have booked that hostel if I would have known it was so far away from center (they lied in the description). Bus goes by the house, but sometimes you need to wait for a good hour for the ride. There was supermarket in 100 meters.Very much overpriced hostel. Too long away from city center and wasnt very clean place. You can get a room or apartment 50% cheaper in the center, but those are not available for online booking (walk the streets and follow 'apartmant/room' -signs).

Liked: Great place. Big rooms. Very very friendly lady who runs it. Good kitchen available to everyone. 10min walk into town. Great value for money.
