Liked: Property is perfectly located! And not too difficult to find, like many properties in Split! It is clean, bright and welcoming.

Disliked: The kitchen was part of the room, however do understand that it is a small hostel and Meri is just offering as many facilities she can in the space she has.

Liked: Everything! So comfortable and friendly and in a superb location. Will definately stay there again. Meri is the best!

Liked: Everything was like very illegal, they keep our passport until the last day, and after it we paid half in euros half in kunas in the "office", which should be called the little and crappy room of meri.

Liked: The Hostel as itself is more or less Ok, despite it's really too much beds in a dormitory

Disliked: If u have no place to sleep in Split - go to the beach. When i checked out from that hostel, the old lady-owned demanded 20 Eur extra cash for broken Air Condition (which broken by itself), so she kept bunch of passports, refusing to give it back. British girl birthed into tears, and she gave her passport back, 3 Aussy took passports easily also. I stayed wait the police, refusing to pay. At that time her huge cousin with the dog-hunter attacked me, pushing me to pay. When the police came, they just did nothing - no report, no passport, no problem. After that they demanded me to pay 700 Eur. I had to give all money, that a had, about 70 Eur to get my passport back, coz i was in a rush to airplane. I feel sorry i didn't move to police station to accuse her in robbery, really like that lady would be prosecuted.

Liked: Meri was lovely and the atmosphere is so relaxed. The hostel itself is only one room but it's right in the middle of the town which was fantastic. Also, it was very clean.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: Centrally located, good shower.

Disliked: I really didnt enjoy being packed like sardines in a very overcrowded room. My bunk made me feel like I was in a morgue, 3 beds high and in a cubby hole in the wall so enclosed from 3 sides. The room was simply not big enough for that many people, beds and luggage. The price was way too high for such accommodation.

Liked: It was right in the centre of Split, the main square was practically the backyard.

Disliked: It was really really cramped, there just wasn't any space, and the ''common area'' and kitchen were all in the same room as the beds, meaning you had to wake people up whenever you wanted to use the kitchen, or vice versa and there just wasn't enough space to move around or put your bag etc.

Disliked: It was a joke the woman expected us to pay 24euros a night for a matress on the floor or to share a double bed with a guy I had never met! I did not trust her at all!!

Liked: They didn't have a clue we were turning up and offered a price willy nilly. They just through a mattress into a room and it was very cramped. Nicely furnished but just not value for money.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Disliked: The owner, she don't know deal with the guests, and she lied us about tha change between kuna and euro.

Liked: The bathroom was very clean with complimentary shower gel and so on, and a hair dryer! And the ladies washed up the kitchenette nicely.

Disliked: There are too many beds for this space, especially during the Summer time - two three-bunk racks which I think you would smother in if you slept in the top. There is air-con but it seemed a bit overworked and so was really stale smelling. Also the thing I like least was that I thought the sheets had not been changed since the last person slept in in as there was hair and food crumbs all over them. This was confirmed the following morning when the ladies came in to clean up - they just straightened the sheets on beds people had slept in the previous night! Despite this, it's fine if you have your own sleeping liner and sleep with the air-con on. People are also charged different amounts in kuna depending whether they book online or just turn up. I think the latter is cheaper.

Liked: Great cheap option in the heart of Split... Not overly roomy, but for 100 kuna (around 20 AUD) a night, the place easily does itself justice. Beds were super comfy, the room had its own little kitchen and computer with fast internet... and everyone got along really well. Much better for meeting people than the other place we stayed at in Split

Disliked: The questionable bathroom door (folding one) that could be a little less see through and the space on the floor got a little cramped once the place was full

Liked: I stayed in the triple en-suite room with two friends for a week, It was very nice and clean. Location was superb, 10m off the main street (Riva), and about 50m from the Roman Palace (which is a UNESCO World heritage site). There was a large flat screen TV, CD Player and a laptop with free wireless internet. It should be noted this is a private house so do not expect to meet people in a hostel environment. I would definately reccomend Hostel Meri!
