Liked: Peaceful location Friendly owner who will show you were to go on walks, etc and cook for you Cheap

Disliked: Very hard to find! There are two bus stops along the main road and I think we got off at the wrong one and the walk was horrendous with heavy bags and we had to try and communicate to a v. friendly fire service person what we were looking for and he phoned the hostel for us and gave us directions. The hostel is a long but pleasant (when not carrying heavy bags!) walk from the main entrance to the lakes. The nearest shop is also a fair walk away and is not the best stocked. No hot water when we first arrived and were desperate for showers! Tiny double room, no TV.

Liked: Good enough for somewhere fairly basic to stay for 1night while at Plitvice lakes. Good restaurant nearby.

Disliked: Hostel is about 15mins walk to Plitvice Lakes via a path through the woods which is unlit at night. The only alternative is walking along the grass verge of a busy road. Good hostel if travelling as a couple looking for somewhere quiet but not for groups or people travelling alone.

Liked: The house and the village look nice. The owner was correctly welcoming.

Disliked: No facilities apart from a bathroom (hopefully!) : no kitchen, no internet, no computer, no lockers, no key for the bedroom door (someone accidently opened our door when we were inside...). + there was a lot of noise, from the other guests but also from the owner who watched his tv loud, the door open. As a couple, we didn't think the room was as "private" as it was supposed to be.... + Despite the other comments, we also thought the house was quite far from the parc entrance. Feasable of course (2km) but with two heavy backpacks, it was long !

Liked: Very chilled atmosphere, the owners were lovely and helpful, she was still awake and ready to help us when we arrived at 1:30am, that was lovely.

Disliked: The breakfast was pretty expensive if you wanted it

Liked: The grandson there speaks English AND is helpful.. but everything comes with a charge be careful

Disliked: no option for a towel and cold without one since u r in mountains... it is rundown and the grounds are nor nice at all compared to all the others around this one looks like a shit hole. they charge for everything.. most hostels offer breakfast they charge 30 k for and same w coffee. It smells pretty bad inside and need to be cleaned better.

Liked: The location was great for the national park, within walking distance.

Disliked: It wasnt very clean, being checked in by a 12yr old is strange, beds were old and uncomfortable.

Liked: a very good staff, very friendly..he took us from poljana restaurant.. very nice house.. i can coom my own dinner, he offered to cook breakfast for us.. he sent us back to bus station..

Liked: Nikolas is a very helpful and friendly man. He really want to make your stay comfortable and nice. Nikolashouse is nearby the busstation and there is a good and cheap restaurant nearby that we really recommend.

Disliked: The room we had was small, dusty and there was no window. The bathroom was also very small. We found the price quite high compared with the quality and with other appartments where we stayed.

Liked: The place is quiet and spacious, not far from the second entrance of Plitvice Park. The owners are very helpful !If you have the opportunitiy to eat there, lets try ! The food is pretty good and generous.

Liked: A lot of young people were accomodated there and the owners were welcoming and friendly.

Disliked: Room No.2 has one awfull bed , and is very drafty from old windows and bad isolation ( woke up with headaches), the bathroom had no toilet paper ( of course you can ask but I expect to have toilet paper)

Liked: Perfect hostel for people who travelling by bus. Is twenty minutes walking to Plitvice park and the bus stop of Mukinje is nearest to Nikolahouse. Highly reccomended

Liked: The house is very well located in a quiet environment to rest after visiting the lakes. It is also possible to walk directly to the park in following a path in the forest from the village Minjek, located at 5 minutes walk from the house.

Liked: Nikola was very friendly, very comfortable beds. Peaceful location.

Disliked: Difficult to get to. Seemingly simple map shows hostel as just across the road from the main bus stop. This is not the case if you're travelling on the bus from Zagreb - be prepared for a long walk up a hill on a dangerous road with no pavement, and no signposts.

Liked: The owner and his wife were extremely helpful and very friendly. Great house which does not seem as grand as the rest of the villas surrounding it, but offers exactly the same value for a better price. It will be my top choice if i go back to plitvice again.
