Liked: The owner welcomed us with lots of energy. The kitchen facilities were amazing as was the fact we had our own balcony attached to the 4 bed room. It was also really easy to get to and find and very close walking distance to everything.

Disliked: The only down side was there was no air conditioning, however the fan provided some relief from the hot weather.

Liked: Great location, nice outdoor areas and very good communcal kitchen and living area. Good to have free internet too.

Disliked: The groundfloor room (which was quite pricey) smelt like a sewer and was full with mosquitos as a result! The room could have done with a bit of updating. e.g. a few hooks on back of door and a shower that didn't explode. It would also have been good if the manager was around a bit more frequently to answer questions and queries.

Liked: Good location, helpful owner when around

Disliked: owner not present very often and none of the family around spoke decent enough english to help. Made life a bit difficult when we had to leave at 5 am and could not find him for passports!

Liked: Vela Luka is a very nice place, much nicer that I expected. Hostel Manuela is well situated, close enough to everything, but far from the noise of the bars and restaurants. I liked a lot the kitchen, wich is large and very well equiped.

Disliked: Probably you could find something cheaper if you just arrive to Vela Luka and look for Sobe. But the good point of this place is that you can book it before, so you are sure you have a good place to stay.

Liked: Mishael was such a good host. Anything you needed he would always be there to try and help. Rooms were really spacious, great common areas, air con and well stocked conditions. No complaints at all.

Liked: The owner's mother was lovely although she just spoke German and Croatian. She even took me to the ticket office. Free internet.

Disliked: Location. It was difficult to find and a random woman had to help me find it. Nobody was around so I had to find their cousin in a bar who eventually called the owner. It was scary as it was very dark around the house. Oh, it's not really a hostel, just rooms in a house.

Liked: Hotel Manuela was very clean and we appreciated the access to towels, a large kitchen and free internet. The hostess was very helpful despite the language barrier.

Liked: Great hostel, especially for solo travellers. The hostel itsel has spacious dorms, clean bathrooms, and a large fully equipped communial kitchen that is great for meeting and mingling with the other guests. Additionally, the owner, Mishel, is extremely helpful, very genuine, and flat out hilarious. He will mak sure you know what to do in Vera Luka and that you have fun while doing it. Great hostel!

Liked: Our host was incredibly helpful, he gave us loads of info about the area and what was available, such as day trips to islands. Also really near the ferry port. Kitchen and internet available 24hrs.

Disliked: There was no corkscrew!

Liked: Mishuel is extremely helpful and eager to assist in anyway that he can. He even picked us up from the ferry port which was really nice although unexpected. Vela Luka is such a small town everything is close, this location is right next to the port so it was great. The place is clean, friendly, I would recommend this.

Liked: The property was clean and felt really safe, Mishel was really friendly and helpful with advice for things to do and where to go etc. Large kitchen and balcony too, the 4 bed dorm was fairly small when we were all in there with all our stuff but the other rooms seemed to be good sizes. The only problem we had was the location Vela Luka was very quiet, probably as it was september and the season had finished, but we were only there for one full day and it was perfect for getting some rest and a bit of peace and quiet before Hvar.

Liked: The guy who runs the Hostel is one of the best hosts I´ve come across! Super friendly and gives you tonnes of info on what to do and will help you out much more than expected during your stay! It´s not a party hostel by any means but is a great place to chill if you feel like a few days of taking it easy

Liked: Michel was so friendly and very helpful. He made us very welcome. We enjoyed the locality of the hostel and Vela Luka itself.However, we were kept awake for some time one night for some time with noise and talking - a little frustrating!

Liked: Family atmosphere, friendly owner, nice location close to vela luka's luka and the promenade, but i'd say it needs to be a bit more organized as my first impression was a bit weird because i did not feel like expected tho i got a reservation and had to prove it, but they also nicely let me have my bag there while scootering the surroundings of the city...great time and lovely peaceful beach and "crique" to discover.
