Zakaria is a small cosy guesthouse set about 5 mins walk from the main harbour area. It's very picturesque, with very clean tidy rooms, way above the standards set by most hostels. The couple who run the place are friendly and great at suggesting things to see and places to eat and drink. I was there in low season so didn't meet loads of people but Hvar is a place you can do that in town.
I would stay there ahead of anywhere else if I went back to Hvar.

relatively well priced. and hvar is gorgeous. but rooms were unlocked and there was no common area.

cleanliness and comfort, good information and advice from owners, location and quiet, didn't go for what you call "fun" so can't comment on that

Great welcome, very handy location but still nice and quiet, pleasant room with character, brand new bathroom, great value for money, especially on Hvar.

This isn't really a hostel, more like a couple of rooms that a man owns. We were in his apartment down the street, average rooms, quite nice. Cheap for the area.

Everything! The owners were so, so nice and gave really helpful advice for enjoying the town. Great people, great place.

The hostel was being refurbished so we were redirected to a guest house whose landlady was very nice. The owners of the hostel were also very nice, they speak a lot of languages and received us very well. We felt like at home.

It's really more like a hotel.. we had our own private room and bathroom, which was awesome. The room was clean, with a great view of Hvar. The owner's wife even made us blueberry apple juice. She is awesome!

Great location and an awesome room. Not an easy place to meet people (no bar or common room e.t.c....) but certainly the couple who own it make up for it! They are very friendly and gave us so much advice that they make the hostel a definite thumbs up to stay at.

The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. On arrival, he told us about things to do in Hvar and gave suggestions of places to eat as well.

Right in the centre of town although it is all up hill with a lot of steps - besides that absolutely no problem. The room was great and there is a large communal kitchen and balcony, some under cover for everyone to use with a huge fridge. Hvar is a fabulous little island - very worth the 1 hour trip from Split on a very fast, efficient & cheap catamaran. The food is all pretty standard - lots of Italian influence - in fact on our whole time there I never encountered one Croatian dish! Lovely cathedral square and the whole place very Med in the 50's. Lots of tourists though - but that is true of everywhere. Do go both right & left from the cathedral square which is where all the beaches are . To the right - if you are facing the sea - is a very stylish beach with double beds - yes double beds out on their own little jetties with huge curtains round them! - you can hire them for £55 a day & they are next to a wonderful cool bar overlooking the ocean - very very nice. To the left is a very nice walk going to a lovely church and passing a tiny but popular pebbly beach - all the beaches are pebbly by the way. This is very much a cafe culture with lots of cool harbourside restaurants and just hanging out and having a laid back time.
Luki & his wife are excellent with lots of information and help. This is a lovely little house and Hvar is a wonderful little island. I would say though that 2/3 days is probably enough to see everything!

The owners are very friendly and gave as a warm welcome. The room was huge with a bathroom just for us. The owner speaks even german. The laundry was done very fast. I would stay at this hostel anytime again.

Great view from balcony, nice room with kitchennette & ensuite toilet. Close to Hvar harbour and town.

The people running it were so nice - the man came to meet us at the bu station and carried our suitcases all the way up. the location was great - a five minute walk from the pedestrian promenade (restaurants, cafes, shops) and the beach, and a one minute walk from the bus station to go into the old city.
