Hannah WoodBeautiful! Amazing hostel I would well recommend to any1 looking for a quiet croation break. The country side and beachs are breath taking!!! If you don't like the smell of Lavender...do go to the island of Hvar. Before going to the island I would strongly recommend checking which days and times buses are running to the village the hostel is located in. We did not do this and foun on the particular day we arrived on Hvar no buses were running and a taxi was 70 Euros!! Kindly the hostell owner *Annamarie* Came to pick us up, breath taking views on the way to the hostel! The hostel is very isolated and we were the only people in the hostel. Immaculate! not only brand new but the rooms were more like hotel rooms with fresh towls and a complimentary Lavender eye mask :) One down side of the location of the hostel is the lack of transport if you are a backpacker however...Egore the next door neigbour became our best friend for driving us where ever we wanted to go :D Future more there are no kitchen facilities, so if your on a budget and would like to eat in the hostel to save money, its cold dinners all round! However the Bar grill up the road is verrrrrrrrry good value for money and excillent food :) We ate there every day and didn't go outside our tight budget. Wee recommend this hostel to any1! suitable for alll ages, young and older, we were a group of 4 girls ages 20 and we loved it and the whole Hvar experience:) Go to the Phara Hostel !! |

Abi MasseyAmazing location!!! Beautiful!!! but hard to get to...Make sure before you go to the island, you check what days buses are running to the village the hostel is located in. We did not do this to find out no buses were running that particular day and a taxi would cost 70Euros! The owner of Phara Hostel came to pick us up in her car :) Extremly friendly staff, as back packers we had no form of transport for the island so the owners next door neighbour drove us everywhere! Beautiful beachs near the hostel, just like its your own private beach. The hostel its self is the best Iv ever stayed in!!! The rooms were like hotel rooms, all brand new and georgous. Would definatly recommend the grill bar up the road, delicious at a very good price. The hostel prices are so cheap! The location is beautiful if you want a quite croation contry get away. Definatly recommend to annnnnnnyone *we were a group of 4 girls aged 20 and we loved it, its stuitable for all ages*. The only downside if if your on a budget and want to cook in the hostel to save money there is no kitchen, how ever the grill up the road if more then adequate for a cheap meal any time of the day :) As we left Mariana *hostel owner* said they were going to build kitchen facilities, so hopefully they should be done sooon. Go the Phara Hostel its welll worth it! :D |

Customer reviewThe hostel is a great choice for those wishing to see an alternative side to Hvar Island other than the lively Hvar Town. The accommodation is great value for money with a very modern feel. I would recommend this hostel for anyone travelling with their own car/transport, not really a viable option for those without their own transport. Very helpful staff. |

Customer reviewThe hostel is quite isolated and far away from the main towns, especially if you don't have your own transport as there is very little public transport. Also no kitchen and the nearest restaurant is about 3km away so quite a trek for breakfast in the morning! However if you have your own wheels and are looking for a quiet getaway place this is it. The rooms are modern and immaculately clean. |

Katherine WehdeMy friend and I were surprised that Phara was as far as it was from Hvar, but we were happy to find such a nice, relaxing place as the hostel was in Gdinj. It was very peaceful and undisturbed. There isn't much in the way of a market or other public facilities, but Anamarija and Igor helped us get to where we needed to be, such as a restaurant, the beach, or even out on the town if that was what we wanted to do. They were so friendly and I would recommend Phara hostel to someone looking for a nice, relaxing stay away from all the hustle-bustle. |

julian whitehurstIt was immaculate, brand new and very much like a spa inside. Although the hostel lacked a kitchen there was a restaurant fairly nearby which offered great food at good value for money. Would definately stay there again. |
