Liked: Beautiful clean room with balcony/terrace. Good location. Very friendly and helpful hosts, and very pleasant place to stay.

Liked: The owners were very welcoming and sat us down with a cold drink after the sweaty walk from the bus station. The son spoke English and he gave us a brief lowdown on the city.

Disliked: The walls were paper thin and you could hear every word said next door - luckily no one was particularly noisy!

Liked: Great family house, the owners were a lovely couple, very helpful. The rooms was very big and with beautiful views of the city.

Liked: Really liked the room it was clean, tidy and functional with a balcony that looked over a beautiful view of Dubrovnik. It was well placed between the Old Town and the ferry port and main bus terminal which made it a great place for us as we were visiting Hvar island too. Would definitely go back again if I was visiting Dubrovnik.

Disliked: The only things to dislike really were that the directions we were given on how to get to the property were confusing and occasionally incorrect. Also the room could have benefited from the addition of a fan as the 33 degree heat was quite hard to cope with without one!

Liked: Anka's place was amazing! The family were amazing, the daughter spoke excellent English and told us what to do in the city in a lot of detail! Although the other family members couldnt speak English, they were so welcoming. They gave us drinks on arrival which we desperately needed after the walk there! The rooms and bathroom are very clean! Overall, we had a wonderful time at Anka's place and would definitely stay again!

Liked: The staff were excellent and very accommodating and welcoming. Our room was huge with an amazing view from the balcony towards the ocean - a great spot for sunsets! It is about a 20min walk to old town or there is a frequent bus.

Liked: Lovely large rooms, with great views from the balcony. Owners couldn't do enough to help, despite having very limited English. We were made to feel very welcome.

Disliked: It is about a 20min walk to the old town, but it never felt that far and you can take the bus if you want. The steep steps up to the property were never fun after a long day out but you get used to them!

Liked: The welcome of the family with a drink. The outsides of the accomodation (our own barlcony with the view over Dubrovnik and the porch)

Disliked: quite a long walk up from the busstation (busconnection is bad because of the low frequency and delays) (question 7; haven´t paid attention to it)

Liked: Excellent staff - really friendly and helpful. Clean. Fantastic views. Huge bedroom.

Disliked: Location isn't great, it is in the middle between the bus station/port and old town. And it's pretty much an uphill 20 minute walk to the house from both of these areas. HOWEVER the views are great and it was worth the hike!

Liked: The owners are very sweet and welcoming. The room and bathroom (shared only with one other double room) were spotless. Hot shower, wi-fi, fridge all came in useful. I especially liked the balcony (upper rooms) or patio area (lower rooms) where we could sit in the shade of the grape vines and admire the view. Location was conveniently half way between the bus station/ port and the old town - comfortable walking distance to both.

Disliked: Nothing, our stay was great.

Liked: The family that own this villa are incredibly friendly and ready to help, the rooms and bathroom are kept very clean (by the grandma of the family!) and our room even had a nice balcony. We appreciated the orange squash and biscuits on arrival too, after our 20 minute walk from the bus station.

Disliked: The property is located right between the old town and the bus station/port, 20 minutes walk from each, so it can be a sweaty journey getting there/to either one, but just avoid the hottest times of day and it is fine. It's great value for such a relatively short walk.

Liked: Absolutely brilliant owners. Treated us like family, brought orange juice on hot days and cakes in the morning!

Disliked: Only two rooms, so it is hit or miss with the people you meet.

Liked: -Ante and his family are superfriendly, they will help you as much as they can -very clean room and bath room, balcony with view on Dubrovnik, price/quality is very good. - house has a good location, only 5 min walk from harbour (excellent for trips to islands) and 15 min walk to historical centre, bakery, cafe and supermarket are nearby - house is situated in upperhill quiet district

Liked: The room and facilities were excellent but it might have been nice to have our own tea/coffee facilities in the room for that odd cup. The property, garden and views over Gruz were OK though not outstanding. It was within comfortable walking distance of the Old City (we did it several times).

Disliked: No real dislikes - mild suggestions as above.

Liked: Really friendly and helpful hostel run by a family. Very clean private rooms with either a balcony or a kitchen. Bathrooms are very clean and modern! Probably the nicest place I stayed while travelling through the Balkans.

Disliked: Nothing really. Its a 25 min walk from old town but nearby buses are very frequent and cheap.

Liked: This was a great relaxing place to stay. The owners were really friendly, even if they did speak in a variety of different languages! They were so excited when we came back to stay at the end of our trip! The facilities were really good and the views were amazing. The juice welcome drink was much needed after the climb up the hill!

Liked: The owners were lovely.English was limited - so was my Croatian, but we managed! Bus number 8 takes you from the old town and a short hike up a few steps and you're there! Is within walking distance of the old town, but not with giant rucksacks on your back - takes about 15 mins and is a lovely walk through old streets. Easy to find. 10 minute walk to bus station and port.

Liked: Hosts are very nice and welcoming. The double room we booked had a shared bathroom with another double room on the lower area of the house. There was a wonderful view and verandah out from the room. Everything was very clean and the kitchen is available to cook meals.The rooms are out of the main city centre, but the bus is very easily accessible. There are stairs up to the house from the street level.

Liked: The friendliness of the host Anka and the relaxing home environment. her fanily are so lovely and hospitable, they gave us cold juice and biscuits upon our arrival which was lovely in the 35 degree weather they gave us a map of dubrovnik told us which buses to catch to get to the old town and pointed out all the tourist attractions for us. Such a relaxing stay, i would stay there again for sure.
