Liked: Maria and Robert are most helpful and friendly, as well as the non-English speaking lady that lives there too and uses all the sign language skills she has to ask if she can do anything and everything for you. The room and bed were more than fine, as was the bathroom. Others have mentioned the location - there are many steps to negotiate in getting to the old city (down on the way there, up on the way back). It takes 15 mins to get there and 20 or so to get back depending on fitness. It is quite a pleasant walk though. Take up their offer of the transfer if there is more than one of you. It is much faster and relatively good value compared to airport taxis. Even if you take the bus to the old city, you will have the hike with your luggage or another 60kn taxi fare. I am not sure what the alternatives are like, but we greatly enjoyed our stay here. The only slight hesitation is the location.

Liked: Neda and her family are very friendly,they are very helpful,it's a very nice place, the only thing that's not so good are the stairs,quite difficult for older guest but for the rest this hostel is recommendable!

Liked: This was probably my favorite place we stayed on our entire trip. The family that runs the hostel is unbelievably welcoming and generous. they greeted us with juice and watermelon after a long day of traveling, made us coffee in the morning, did our laundry for free and drove us to the airport when we left. i would definitely recommend this. The location was pretty close to the old city as well

Liked: The hosts of the hostel were the most heplfull I have ever encountered. We were meet and escorted to the house, and then given a beer on arrival. Now that is service!!! The location was about a 15 min walk into the old town, however the cheaper price was definitly worth it. There is a full kitchen, and they even supplied us with the basisc (oil, salt, pepper etc) which made our cooking experience even better!

Liked: It is a family house in very good position between old town and the port, the owners offered us a good price for drive from the airport right to the house (I travelled with my little son) and gave us lot of practical info and maps for stay in Dubrovnik. It is a friendly place with a nice terrace surrounded with lemon trees, more as a quiet place for night than as a place to make parties, but very pleasant.

Liked: This hostel is a complete appartment with view of the sea so its very nice, and the family is really friendly. It's not in the center but almost none of the accomodations are. It's easy to move by bus, taxi or walking so don't worry. Definitively recommended.

Liked: Marija - owner's friend, explained in details what is worth visiting in Dubrovnik, giving us tips where is the best place to eat, or interesting to visit - and she was 100% right.That helped us a lot as we were totally unprepared for that trip.

Liked: Staff was really friendly and helpful, although they didn't speak much English. The hostel isn't very far from the center, but you have to be ready to walk, because the bus connections aren't that good.

Liked: The host was awesome, so hospitable, felt like i was being cared for by a loving mother! The walk to the old town was the only downfall- lots of stairs!

Liked: We were picked up at the bus station in Dubrovnik by the smiling, helpful and english-speaking daughter-in-law of Neda, and driven directly to the guesthouse. Free of charge. The guesthouse itself is clean, peaceful and sets you back a quarter of the price of a similar hotel room in Dubrovnik. That is, if you can find one at all. And you won't, at least not one that insists on washing your dirty laundry if you leave it in the bathroom, and is ready to help you out with just about anything else. On the downside, you could wish for a shorter stroll uphill after lingering in the cafes in the old town, but hey, that's as good as any gym room at the impossibly ugly Hilton Imperial at Pile gate. No curfew, no restrictions, just plain nice.
