Liked: Very friendly staff who were happy to give lots of info and free local transfer - coffee and biscuits were a nice touch too!

Disliked: Quite a trek back from the old town/port - ok if you don't need to pop back during the day.

Liked: I think this was our most pleasent stay in Croatia. The owner is a really nice girl. Rooms are clean and bathroom is shared but very clean. Owner does a real good job making u feel welcome and ensuring you enjoy your holiday. Room has a fridge.

Disliked: No aircondintioning. Althoug you can't expect that in high season for these prices.

Liked: The house was absolutely lovely! Really friendly owner - very sweet and helpful! We arrived the day the owner was throwing a party for her little daughter, and before we knew what was happening, we were eating cake and pizza amidst laughing children! We were picked up from the harbor upon arrival in Dubrovnik! We were also transferred to the airport at the end of our holiday. We had to pay for this, however it was cheaper than had we outsourced it, and also convenient! The room was a nice size and enough storage space was available, as we as a fridge.

Disliked: The location was not ideal - it was on top of a hill, and unless you catch a bus, you have quite a loooong walk ahead of you to get to old town ;) the buses were infrequent so we generally walked. On the plus, the exercise was great, although sometimes inconvenient.

Liked: The whole family, particularly Maria, who speaks excellent english (my native tongue) are so so helpful, and Neda, for whom the guest house is named, makes the MOST excellent turkish coffee. The house is tidy, always welcoming and clean, the the guests seem to be as high caliber as the owners. It was a shame to have to leave!

Disliked: There are many more stairs in Dubrovnik than I realized! The first night, when I was tired, it was a difficult trip back up. And it is easy to get turned around if you don't pay attention.

Liked: Very friendly family. Picked us up from the port as soon as we called them and took us to the airport the day after which even though cost 25 euro, was a lot easier than going back into Dubrovnik to get the bus.

Disliked: Quite far out of town.

Liked: Marija, Robert, Neda and the father-in-law (sorry, can't remember his name :S ) are all absolutely fantastic; Robert picked us up from the bus station in 37 degree heat and Marija sat us down with juice to show us where to go and what to do whilst Neda kindly did all of our laundry and the father-in-law freshly picked some tomatoes from his veggie garden for us to have with our dinner! To top it all off the rooms and bathrooms are absolutely fantastic- would stay here here again without a doubt!

Liked: The guesthouse was very clean and a nice place to stay. Staff helped us with everything, including day excursions, planning the rest of your trip. They helped us find another room to stay for a further night and gave us lifts to and from places.Would definitely recommend this lovely guesthouse! It's very good value and you can also order breakfast to eat on the terrace

Disliked: You need to be fit to climb the steps up to the house, which is at the top of the hills behind Dubrovnik

Liked: Comfortable bed and large, clean bathroom. The family is very friendly and offers travel advice, free pick up from the bus station and port, and morning coffee. It is easy to find your way to the old town from here; about a 20-25 minute lesiurely walk. Great value for the price.

Liked: The staff were lovely. Marija and Neda were always very welcoming, making coffee for us of a morning and even ironing our shirts! The room was wonderful for the price we paid, a nice double bed, lovely bathroom. Dubrovnik itself is a wonderful town, and we had a wonderful view from the terrace.

Disliked: While it was a distance away from the centre itself, it wasn't too far. It just meant that you wouldn't return during the middle of the day to drop off any belongings, you were out till you came home that night. Also, beware of people at the bus terminal pretending to be Marija, there are imposters who will try and take you to their hostel. This happened to us. Remember, either Marija or her husband will meet you and take you to their car. Both are quite young. Don't do what we did, and follow a woman pretending to be Marija into her house across the road. They will only rip you off.

Liked: Neda's guesthouse was a great place to stay, the family was lovely and it was a safe place. If you dont mind walking a bit, then the location is fine - up in the hills so has beautiful views!

Liked: Excellent place to stay, a really friendly family that made you feel welcome in their home. They treated you in a really personal manner, and could not do enough for you (including a great introduction to what is worth seeing and where is best to eat). We went as a group of 5 girls, and it was perfect - felt really safe. Its a bit of a walk back (all uphill with steps) but its worth it for the helpfulness of the family, and it was a nice little insight into local life. Would definitely stay here again.

Liked: Very good value for money. Marija extremely nice and helpful. Fridge in room-very good idea. They offer us many thing when they didnt have to. They welcomed us with juice and sweets,gave us some maps and good tips. Nice gesture was free pick up from and to bus station, Vladko had to wake up early to drop us off and pick us up late.Also we had morning tea and coffee with something sweet through our all stay,that was nice.Thanks Marija and Neda

Liked: Marija and family are amazing! They are so friendly and helpful and will make sure your stay in Dubrovnik is great with lots of good recommendations. She also helped arrange great accom for Korcula. Ensure that you make contact beforehand if arriving by bus or ferry to arrange a pick up as the walk up the hill with luggage was a nightmare!
