Liked: Lovely people who will do anything to help you out. Comfortable beds, wifi, hot showers and the best breakfast ever!

Liked: The breakfast in the morning was good value for money. Best french toast. It was also good that there was a supermarket nearby and a kitchen in the hostel. The family was nice but all they secretly wanted was money.

Disliked: Dinner was overpriced at around $20. Everyone I met there was weird. It was so far from the old town. It was way too expensive. Curfew at the hostel is 12.

Liked: This is an adorable, friendly, well run place. It's run by a really cute Croatian family that pick you up at the bus stop, offer helpful advice, cook great dinners woth homemade wine, and take excellent care of you. Staying at this Hostel is like finding long lost relatives in Croatia

Disliked: Location isn't ideal, but the rest of the Hostel is so wonderful that it doesn't even matter.

Liked: Great atmospehere and lovely staff. Location was great, easy to get to the Old Town and some other areas. Dubrovnik is a wonderful city and you must go!

Liked: Everyone was really friendly and had a great time meeting other travelers. If you aren't traveling as a couple, I highly recommend this property as a way to meet some great friends.

Disliked: Internet signal dropped a few times but was better than other places I've found in Croatia.

Liked: This hostel is a family run business and feels like a home away from home. I had lost my bags and was without clothes and toiletries and the owners lent me some of their children clothes and made sure they followed up on my bag whilst I went sight-seeing. Food is so delicious and staff were friendly and helpful. You wont want to leave this hostel once you have stayed.

Liked: Lovely home feeling - the family that runs it was amazing, the wife is a wonderful cook and indeed made us some of the best food we had during the entire trip to Croatia. They were very friendly and helpful. The hostel itself has great facilities (computers, free wifi, movie room, kitchen), and was very clean. met great people.

Disliked: It is pretty expensive. Not really their fault, seeing as Dubrovnik itself is more expensive than other cities in Croatia. Value for money is not quite there, but I still loved this hostel and would recommend it.

Liked: This hostel is run by a lovely family. You are made to feel very much apart of it on arrival. Recieved a lovely glass of rakia on arrival. The food is to die for! The all you can eat breakfast and dinners are excellent for those with an appetite. Clean comfy rooms.

Disliked: No lock on bathroom door or ventilation. Cost. This is probably the most expensive accomadation i've ever paid for. At 30euros a night you can get an apartment in the old town for less. However if you're on your own then go for it :)

Liked: EAT THE DINNER AND THE BREAKFAST!! Milka cooking is amazing! Famiy are awesome - it's not the usual hostel - all travelers become part of this huge family. Go to Lokrum island and see the peacocks.

Disliked: Kitchen and communal islands are a little small but it makes it cosy!

Liked: The family that runs it is extremely friendly, hospitable and helpful. They are literally ALWAYS there for you. Great home cooked breakfast and dinner! The mother Milika works night and day to keep the place clean and keep everyone happy and make them love her. The sons organize tours, airport/ferry pickups and groceries. Together, they combine the coziness and cleanliness of a homestay with the atmosphere and action of a hostel. Amazing place for small groups and single travellers.

Disliked: Its almost hard to leave the hostel and go out into town because everybody there just wants to stay there because its so nice.

Liked: The owners were very friendly - one of them came along with us to Lokrum island and negotiated a discount on the boat for us, which was appreciated!

Disliked: It's quite a long way from the Stari Grad (Old Town) - c. 4km, which is a 45 minute walk or 15 minute bus ride. To be fair, the owners never maintained that it was close to the Old Town.

Liked: I loved the cozy family atmosphere, the new friends made over cheap delicious meals, the great excursion given by one of the hosts, the fact that you felt like you were a part of a family gathering. Nothin like the Dubrovnik backpackers club. If you are hesitant, don't be. You will feel right at home.

Disliked: That I couldn't go on yet another excursion :( And that I had to leave

Liked: That it is run by a family, although they cant all speak english well they try make everyone feel welcome. it was clean and beds were comfortable.

Disliked: That people book to stay at the hostel way in advance and then the staff overbook so there is no room and send the organised early bookers to stay with randoms in their neighbourhood, very awkward!!! also did not like how pushy the family are to do, eat and see things, especially when you are trying to relax on your holiday, i think if we need help we will ask for it and if we are hungry we will say.

Liked: The family who run this youth hostel are brilliant - really nice, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The bus terminal/ferry port free pick up is a really nice extra service. Plus, the meal that Milka makes is amazing...a legend! Thanks to you all at Dubrovnik Backpackers Hostel!

Liked: Milka and the rest of the family (staff) were so wonderful and incredibly helpful with anything you needed. The breakfasts were delicious and a really fun, filling way to start the day, and the dinners were incredibly filling and tasted wonderful. The hostel had an air conditioned common room with a projector and hundreds of DVDs to hang out in, and an outside social area which makes it incredibly easy to meet people. There is a market and two beaches within a ten minute walk and the bus stop to the old town is a minute away from the front door.

Disliked: I had to leave.

Liked: Lovely couple runs the hostel, who go out of their way to help out and make life easier for the guests. This includes a regular meal for guests to sit down with the proprietors and eat traditional croatian food - some of the best I'd had in my trip. Were more than happy to help out with tips and hints, and the rooms were pleasant and airconditioned, a vital element!

Disliked: The hostel wasn't that conveniently located, around 10 minutes bus from the old town, around which a lot of the bars and nightlife is orientated. This is not a huge problem and the buses run late, but can discourage heading into dubrovnik in the evenings. I didn't find this an issue but perhaps others may have.

Liked: Everything! I was made to feel so welcome by the family that run the hostel and the atmopshere is so friendly. Milka does an amazing dinner...I recommend having the food to anyone staying. I came back here two more times afterwards during my travels.

Liked: Good for meeting fellow tavellers and the staff were friendly and helpful. Also the breakfast for 20 kuna- French toast mmmmm.

Disliked: Not the cleanest. The kitchen area was smelly and untidy. Whilst the pillow case and top sheets were changed after each traveller, the bottom sheet on the mattress wasn't.
