Liked: Lovely family run hostel who make every effort to make your stay in Dubrovnik enjoyable. If you want to party however, you need to move it out of the hostel after 10

Liked: There is no AC in the rooms... it is AC in the area and you have to open up the door or window to get the AC in there. The hostel is also about a 30 minute walk to anyting so you have to take a bus everywhere. The staff is fairly helpful although not all the information is correct and they are very disorganized.

Liked: I liked the fact that breakfast was included, the location and the shared facilities such as kitchen and barbecue. However the constant attempts to sell tours were annoying, and everything seemed very money-oriented. One evening a huge number of guests were put up on mattresses (for a nominal discount) despite having booked rooms in dorms.

Liked: The best hostel ever! The family are so so friendly and helpful. Milka cooks a delicious breakfast of french toast every morning and is always offering guests bosnian coffee and cookies. The hostel is in a great location, within walking distance of the lapad beaches and next to a bus stop where you can get a bus to Pile gate outside the old city. The trips run by the hostel are really good, I only wish I could have stayed longer and done more of the trips! I'll be back again for sure!

Liked: The family who runs this hostel is very hospitable, warm, friendly, and helpful. My two friends and I stayed there for two nights this past spring and were so impressed with the way we were treated -- they called each of us by name, personally made us breakfast, showed us their photo albums, and gave us detailed advice, tips, and a history of the city -- we felt like we were part of the family during our short stay. Liked: The family who run the business were really lovely. They had a constant source of snacks on hand, maps and offer day trips at reasonable prices. We were picked up from the ferry wharf and dropped at bus terminal for a small fee. A delicious french toast breakfast is included and there was also a seafood bbq one night while I was there.

Liked: Great family owned hostel. Mum, Dad and kids are all very helpful and committed to making your stay enjoyable. Close to the beach but a bus trip to the Old Town, which I didn't find too much of a concern.

Liked: Ivica and his family are wonderful people. They will definitely make your stay comfortable and memorable. Great views of the city from just outside the house, the common outdoor area with the BBQ is a great idea.Definitely recommended, especially considering the prices in Dubrovnik can get very high.

Liked: Execellent hosts and location is pretty cool with regular buses into town.I would strongly recommend going on the "Snorkel and Sunset tour" that they offer. It was a lot of fun and you really get to see a lot of Dubrovnik that you wouldn't go to yourselves.

Liked: DBC is the best hostel I've ever stayed at. Right now you're probably a little skeptical with all the glowing reviews of this place thinking that it can't be everything it's cracked up to be - it is. I have traveled well over 30 countries and stayed at probably 50+ hostels and this was fair and away the best experience. I can't say enough compliments about the services provided; definitely go on one of Ivica's excursions (particularly Bosnia). He perhaps is the nicest young man I've ever met in my life.

Liked: The organized trip to Bosnia is incredible, worth every penny. The staff is super helpful, but not alway easy to find as they live in an apartment on the top floor, while the rooms are on the bottom floor (of an apartment building). It's not a huge hostel, but there are people to meet. Also, there is a bus right outside the hostel that brings you directly to the Old City and it runs very frequently. All in all, would recommend.

Liked: Ibitha and his family are lovely, warm and welcoming. I thoroughly reccomend the Bosnia trip Its the little extras that make it here. The owner treating us to Oysters Killpatrick, and local wine. The fathers birthday when we drank plum brandy with him and his family. The mother making french toast for us for breakfast.Its not listed in Lonely planet. Its amazing.....See what I wrote about the Bosnia Trip below....ANd so it began...with freshly shuck oysters,jumping around waterfalls that cascaded into bright blue lakes,lamb at a restaraunt called ladies who lost their men (quite fitting for 4 ladies who left their men at home, to go on adventures) straight from the spit, salty, spicy and a carafe of Bosnias finest white (a little like sav blanc),the middle entailed drinkiing more of Bosnias finest straight from the vinyard and some cherry and hazelnet brandy,with men that defended their family and their land with farm guns who looked a little like a were a cross between farmer and a commando. Frendly and welcoming, yet indimidating and gruff.It ended with walking around the beautiful markets of Moskar, and seeing the beautiful old buildings riddled with the pockmarks of bullets, that almost look like they were put there for design. But they wernt.Drinking Bosnain coffee with Turkish delight and old men that put my fortune in my necklace.Then mother nature put on a light show for us on the ways home with crackles of lighnting and the moon playing hide and seek. SOmetimes lit looked like a man playing with a malteser, or a dog chasing a ball.Wow.Did you know Hertzogvina means Heart-Hertz Ego-ogv vina-wine (Love of Wine)There is so many bits that I missed. It was an amazing day.
