Liked: everything. this is the number 1 hostel i have stayed in in my travels across Europe and North america. Awesome family staff, great social atmosphere, fun tours, Delicious more then you can eat home cooked breakfasts and dinners, Cheap beers on offer, Picked us up from the port for free, Upgraded us to a private room because we arrived earlier then we were supposed to, A little way from Old town But its only 10 min on a modern air conditioned bus and there's plenty of beautiful places to swim close by which josep (hopefully spelt right) very helpfull pointed out to us. We had trouble at the border with Bosnia and were fined 500 Kn because previous hostels hadn't registered us in Croatia. Eve (again probably spelt wrong) paid for this on the spot and then the family helped us sort the problem out with the police so we were refunded. Again cant recommend this place enough its worth going to Croatia just to stay here.

Disliked: Leaving.

Liked: Family are awesome - went above and beyond to ensure a great stay, free pickup from bus/ferry terminals very helpful, the paid breakfasts and dinners are worth it (although only if you are ABSOLUTELY starving), did the Bosnia tour and was a lot of fun

Disliked: It was a little expensive as compared to a couple of places in Old Town as this hostel is out of town (but then they make it worth your extra mullah)

If you want more than just a bed to sleep on then this place is it. Has everything you will need. Probably the best hostel i've stayed in in the last 2 months

Liked: It's right near a nice little pebble beach, the area is quiet.

Disliked: This was a perfectly functional hostel, but they close the outside area at 10am, and there's barely enough room for people to squeeze inside the common room-- which they then close at midnight. Milka cooks great homemade food, but she can definitely be overbearing. She wouldn't give us any restaurant suggestions because she wanted us to pay her for her homecooked meal instead. Also, it's a hike to the old city, though there are busses.

Liked: By far the best hostel I've stayed at. The family are so friendly its difficult to leave and the home cooked meals are just amazing. The day trips are highly, highly recommended. It's a little far from the old town but old towns so overcrowded you will be glad to get away from it!

Liked: This hostel is clean and family & Staff are very welcoming it really was home from home. Breakfast and Dinner's are very good. Easy to meet other people due to the size of the hostel. The day trips they provide to Bosnia, Montenegro and Wine tour are well recommended I done them all and had a great time. Its location is quiet but only a short walk to shops and beaches and there is a bus stop outside the hostel to the old town and the buses are very frequent, cheap and run until 12.30pm. Was sad to leave. Would recommend to other travelers or if you want a short holiday.

Disliked: There is nothing really not to like.

Liked: DBC is a very unique hostel - it is completely family-owned and run, so staying there makes you feel like your at home, not in a hostel. Milka and her family were so welcoming, kind, hard-working and helpful. I really enjoyed the family suppers, which were reasonably priced for all the food you can eat, and Milka makes the most amazing French toast that you will ever have for breakfast each morning, which all the guests loved! The family also plans daily excursions - I only went on the Bosnia trip, but I was told the others are also fantastic. The common areas were great for meeting other guests and hanging out. Many of the guests extended their stay while I was there, and even if they were full, the family always seemed to find room for everyone. The hostel is in a quiet area, so it's not hard to get a good night sleep (even during the day I had some great naps). I definitely recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to Dubrovnik!

Disliked: The hostel is quite far from Old Town - however, there is a bus stop nearby and it's a quick ride down, or a scenic 45 min. walk. The beach is only a 10 min. walk, though!

Liked: It is a family house and I especially enjoy the social area on the top floor where the family cooks and hang out with travelers. Despite not being located in the old town, the location is a mere 10 minutes bus ride away from the main sightseeing point, away from the hustle and bustle of the very touristy Dubrovnik old city. I highly recommend this hostel to everyone, merely for the warm hospitality of the family. Everyone I met ended up staying extra days because of their friendliness and eagerness to show us the best of Dubrovnik and surroundings.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike about.

Liked: Where do I start? My luggage was lost en-route. They took me in, fed me, clothed me and gave me drink. The breakfasts were delish, as were the dinners. I felt like one of the family. Nikola was great and showed me the ropes, and Ivica busted-out some amazing tours. Talk about value! 25 Euros for 10 hrs, with food and drink (I got quite hammed). The snorkeling and civapci's was brilliant too.

Disliked: It was a little far from the Old Town and Clubs, but if it was closer then there would've been a swarm of tourists from the cruise ships. The directions were good, but some additional signage would help.

Liked: It's seriously the best hostel I've ever been. Rooms are just modern, clean and with good space. The common rooms and everything is just confortable, feels like home. And of course, the owners and their family? Most friendly people ever. I had to come back again there, just a very nice place.
