Liked: Maria is very nice. the guest house is also clean daily by Maria. Facilities prepared are complete. Location is bit far from main city, but the price and view is worth it. ;)

Liked: It was really cozy and had just about everything we needed. Old Town dinner could be expensive, but you could make some food here in the kitchen and we were by ourselves so it was really nice. Free wifi and beds to crawl into after a long day. The walk was sometimes tiring after a really long day, but nothing we couldn't handle and great exercise.

Disliked: My only dislike was that hot water ran out really quickly in the shower, but a little cold water never hurt anybody and it's not the winter so we still weren't too cold.

Liked: We are two girls who had the whole apartment to ourselves. Although we booked a private twin room, Maria has kindly provided us the larger room with balcony view overlooking the Port Gruz and beautiful night/day peninsula. The kitchen was well-equipped as well as updated computer facilities, free wifi, clean washroom with towel provided. Excellent value for money. It was 25minutes away from the Old Town and city centre, but the walk was pleasant with clear directions. Although Maria's know limited English, her daughter Marijana will be able to communicate with guests and does not hesitate to help in all ways possible.

Disliked: There is nothing that we are not happy about at all. Our stay was absolutely pleasant.

Liked: First off, Roberta is a gem. If you don't stay for the amazing location or view, stay to meet Roberta. Now, the location is pretty amazing. Roughly a 2 minute walk from the port and about 3 minutes from the center of town. You can't get any closer to the water than this place. We arrived on the late ferry so we didn't get a good look at the view. The view from balcony the next morning, however, was like waking up Christmas morning. The room was big and spacious and there is a nice size bathroom and kitchen. The bed was comfortable and big. Amazing value for the money. We got the whole house to ourselves since we were there in the off season.

Disliked: The house its old and needs updating, but I think it its part of the charm. Not a negative really, but no heat in the house, just space heaters (which was fine for us). Also the water heater in the kitchen didn't work, but I think the fuse was blown and would have been an easy fix had we cared enough to let Roberta know. Nothing that would keep us from coming back.

Liked: Very inexpensive and in a great part of town (not in the Old City but very close to Gruz Bay).

Disliked: The shower was cold once and there were a few ants. Nothing to get worked up about.

Liked: Maria was really friendly - her standard line is "is no problem!", the rooms were a good size, good size kitchen/dining/common area too for only three rooms, the place was immaculately clean, a bit out of town but the bus is easy to get, or we enjoyed the walk in and back

Disliked: There was one bathroom between three rooms with the toilet and shower in the one room, so in the mornings it could be a bit tricky to get to the toilet with 7 people also wanting to use the toilet and shower

Liked: A great location overlooking Gruz and Lapad marvellous views if you have the balcony room. Maria and her daughter are very nice people and will do every thing they can to make your stay really worthwhile.Dont bother shoping around for breakfast have it at Marias great value.Clean spotless rooms and bathroom free internet true Croatian hospitality Real value for money

Disliked: Although it did not bother two over 55s anyone with walking problems may find the steps up to Marias a little tireing

Liked: Fantastic little place, we loved it so much that wew decided to stay for longer, they were very accomodating and Maria is always making sure you have everything that you need. Very accessible from the main bus station and ferry port and takes about 20 to 30mins to walk to the old town or you can catch a local bus for 10Kuna which is under 2Euro from right outside. Very good value for money and very safe although more like a guest house than a hostel.

Disliked: Having to leave both this place and the lovely country that is Croatia.

Liked: Maria is a very helpful and cheerful lady. I like the room and cleanliness. Location is a bit far from old town but there is a bus stop in front of the house and everybody use buses in Dubrovnik.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Close to bus station and to Gruz port. Perfect for us as we were heading on a sailing trip after our stay at Guest house Maria. Maria doesnt speak much English but tried her best to give us as much information on where to go and how to get around. Apartment was cleaned daily. Maria even held our bag for a week while we were sailing!! Really lovely lady. Free Internet was good. Supermarkets are close and there is a bus station just up the road that takes you into old town. You can walk to Old Town - be prepaired for a lot of stairs and all uphill on the way back.

Disliked: No Aircon in rooms!!! we were unlucky to get the small room with a small window facing away from the port so no airflow came through our room!! the only aircon in the property is in the hallway and doesnt cool the rooms even though we slept with our door open all night. A fan was provided but did not cool the room at all!

Liked: extremely clean house, The host Mrs.Marija was is so nice and warm hearted person I've ever met in any other hostel. I'm so touched by her and miss her so much. The location is a bit far from the town but not a big deal.

Disliked: The triple room is much more worth pay than the double rooms even though you are two persons. because the view of triple room is wonderful.

Liked: The location was great - though a little hard to find at first. We were given a room with a balcony view over the Port of Dubrovnik. Maria, though her English wasn't perfect, was very helpful and accomodating. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable - great value for money!

Disliked: Some of the guests were a little unfriendly - everything else was perfect!

Liked: Maria (the owner) was lovely and very sweet. The rooms were clean and we were lucky to have the room with a balcony which had a gorgeous view of Port Gruz. The bathroom was clean with a good shower, and the kitchen had everything you would need. Both were cleaned daily.

Disliked: Being in Gruz, it was a 20 minute walk/10 minute bus ride from the Old Town. This wasn't an issue for us but it might be for some people. It's also up a hill so you have to walk up c.150 steps but they are really quite manageable.

Liked: Not to sound like everyone else, but Maria was lovely! She doesn't speak much English but she tries. The instructions are pretty clear on how to get there. Just remember it's from Gruz, the main bus station not Old City.

Disliked: Walking up the hill! It's not too bad, just make sure you go up the hill at the roundabout.

Liked: A very clean and quiet hostel.

Disliked: Quite a way from the old town. I knew this when I booked it however.
