Liked: Danica is so sweet. She is very welcoming and offers suggestions about places to go in Dubrovnik and other areas of Croatia. She is also very accommodating and offers rides to the airport and bus stations. She also makes delicious coffee and desserts. The place offers a homely vibe and the view for taking pictures is gorgeous. I have been to 18 different countries and would recommend Danica Guesthouse over any place I have ever stayed. One more note...Make sure you take the transfer that Danica offers from the airport to the bus station. The cabs are very expensive, and they drop you off in the wrong spot, and then you have to hike up 480 steps.....

Liked: In our extensive travels, Danica stands among the most friendly and helpful hosts/hostesses that my wife and I have encountered. Our flight into Dubrovnik was delayed multiple times, yet when we arrived at the airport Danica was there waiting for us. She was full of excellent information and advice about the city and constantly offering us complimentary food and drinks. Because our arrival to Dubrovnik was delayed, Danica even took the time to give us a ride from from her place to the old town on the afternoon we arrived to help us pack in as much sightseeing as possible that day. Her place is a a bit off the beaten path, but is in a very nice residential neighborhood that is a quick bus ride (or a very pleasant 30-40 min walk, including many of Dubovnik's famous stairs!) to the old town, and about a 5 min walk to Gruz Harbor.

Liked: Danica couldn't be more kind and helpful, but she's got the balance just right between being a great host without being overbearing. The warm welcome makes it feel more like staying with a family friend. The view from the balcony is wonderful, definitely the best view in Dubrovnick.

Disliked: The guest house is a wee bit out of the way (the views compensate). You can either walk up the 400 plus steps or the bus will drop you a few minutes walk away. There is no pavement on the walk from the bus stop though.

Liked: Danica is a wonderful, wonderful host. Like a Mum away from home. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She even cooked us dinner one night. She also made some great suggestions to help us get the most out of our holiday. The balconey views over the harbour were also second to none.

Liked: Helpful host and breakfast and snacks/drinks provided.Very good location and comfortable accomodation.

Disliked: I didn't receive a reply to my 2 emails regarding a car from the airport. There were actually two cars to meet us but we only had hand luggage so didn't need the 2nd one (but were still charged for two cars) A shame, because very good in all other respects.

Liked: We were collected from the bus station for free and on arrival at the Danica Guesthouse given rereshments and advice on the best places to visit in Dubrovnik which was great. The rooms are very clean and the use of the balcony is good with stunning views of Dubrovnik Harbour. Danica is so warm and friendly, she welcomed us into her home and was very helpful to us making our stay all the better. We would recommend the Guesthouse to anyone!

Disliked: This Guesthouse is a little further from the old town than some others available however there is a regular bus service for which we were provided with a timetable for by the guesthouse so this really posed us no problem but is worth bearing in mind.

Liked: Danica was an excellent host who went out of her way to make us feel welcome and part of the family. The room and hospitality offer superb value for money and is so much cheaper than hostels. Overall a fabulous stay and a perfect end to our travels. Thank you.

Disliked: There are a fair few steps up to the house...which can be a bit of a battle in the sun, but there are fig trees on the way up :)

Liked: Danica and her son were so helpful, they gave us free travel to and from the bus stop, free breakfast and juices/cherry brandies. Would definitely recommend to first timers to Dubrovnik as they gave us maps and good advice on where to go as well as setting up day trips etc. They also rang up for bus times for us.

Disliked: Although the bus links were really good when traffic was bad at certain times of the day it was a bit annoying not being within a better walking distance.

Liked: Hostess was amazing! Friendliest person i've ever met and made it a pleasure to stay there. The views of the harbour were exceptional and Danka made us food two nights which was fantastic as she is a brilliant cook. Bed was comfortable, room was spacious with plenty of wadrobe space and good balcony.

Disliked: The hotel was near a bus stop but Dubrovnik need to make the busses more frequently from there.

Liked: Danica Guesthouse was fantastic, such a great place to stay and Maria couldn't have been more helpful. The location's amazing if you like sweeping views across the sea, the sunset in particular was just wonderful from the balcony. Really lovely breakfast too, which we didn't realise we were getting - tea or coffee, and a generous helping of bread and jam. Nothing spectacular, but a great way to start the day and makes this place even better value for money!

Disliked: Be warned that it's a long walk up the steps from the harbour (takes about 10 minutes, and can be tough going up in the afternoon heat - there is a bus direct from the old town, but takes a fairly long route and only comes once an hour), but you can't have a fantastic view without a bit of elevation! Only other negative is the lack of a fan in the bedrooms, but you can fully open the door to the balcony at night anyway so that's only really a problem if it's exceptionally hot. We stayed a total of 3 nights in the middle of summer, and only found it a problem on the first night - which, to be fair, was ludicrously hot without the merest hint of any breeze! The other two nights were more normal for Dubrovnik at that time of year, and the lack of a fan didn't bother us in the slightest.

Liked: The family who runs this is incredibly helpful, kind and just all around good people.

Disliked: No internet and unless you tell them in advance that you need a pick up at the bus station or ferry, its a long flight of stairs up to the Guesthouse. What I found out later though is that if you take bus#3 to its terminus, it stops off near the Guesthouse at the top of the mountain. In addition, the road outside of the Guesthouse is really dangerous so you need to be careful when you are walking to the bus stop or coming from the bus stop. There is no sidewalk and motorcycles and cars whip around fast on the curve road and sometimes get very close.

Liked: Danka and her family were so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very knowledgeable about everthing related to travelling around Croatia, taking ferries, good places to eat, etc.The guest house was beautifully clean with a wonderful view over the harbour.
