Liked: Plenty of space available to socialise, cook, make coffee etc. Excellent location that is close to but also away from the busyness of the main street of the old town. Marina (landlady) was always available as she also worked in the art gallery downstairs. She was also very helpful in giving directions and advice for things to do and places to go. Would definitely go back again.

Liked: The property is in the heart of the old town so location is second to none! We enjoyed a lovely warm welcome from the owner who was keen to give us information and advice so that we could get the best from the stay. The house is immaculate!! And very stylish without missing out on character. Comfortable firm bed. Great value for money. We were very sad to leave.

Liked: We stayed at Stairhouse Chic during a holiday to Croatia, we only needed a place to stay a few nights whilst we were in Dubrovnik and the house and location couldn't have been better! As there were 4 of us, we were able to rent the entire house and it really was a home-from-home, Marina made us feel really welcome and took her time to give us advice on where to go etc! The decor is beautiful, the house was clean and you are in the middle of Dubrovniks Old Town!

Liked: The property was as central as you could get. It lived up to its name of being "chic". It was very clean, pleasant and arty. It was probably the nicest places I stayed in my travels in Europe for that price. The owner was very friendly and very helpful - all her suggestions of restaurants were fantastic - and she avoided suggesting the touristy ones.

Liked: Stairhouse Chic is the nicest place I've stayed in my years of travelling. I felt like I'd walked into a close friends home, only nicer! It is decorated so you feel like your in a really beautiful, newly renovated town house with really tasteful decor. There is EVERYTHING you could need... the kitchen is brilliant, a guitar to play, a music collection, washing machine for free, wifi, the list goes on! THe rooms are beaultiful, every attention to detail has been made and are spottless. I cant recomend this place highly enough, its truly a home away from home... only nicer!

Liked: It was a lovely spot to stay. Marina was very lovely and always available to help and give excellent tips on where to go and what to see on your stay. Full kitchen facilities and lovely clean accommodation. Felt like home straight away. In the heart of the old city walls couldn't ask for a better location. Highly recommend!!

Liked: I can't say enough wonderful things about my stay at Stairhouse Chic! The building is interesting and lovely, the location couldn't be better and Marina was an absolute jewel. The vibe of the house makes you wish you could just live there!

Liked: Although we stayed only for one day, this hostel has given us everything we were looking for, and the owner Marina was very helpful. Hostel is clean, neat, furnished with many lovely details plus the location is excellent (in very heart of the old town - it takes a 5 min walk to any historical location in the old town). All in all - a perfect romantic getaway! :)

Liked: The property was VERY central and the directions made it easy to find. The shared lounge area was very comfortable and the kitchen very well-equipped. Although the bedroom and bathroom were basic, they were comfortable and very clean.

Liked: Great location. The rooms are very private as there are only two. Large living and kitchen area which is great. Marina the owner was lovely and very helpful. I would highly recommend this. Very clean also.

Disliked: The shared bathroom was down a floor from my room which made for a challenging walk to the toilet in the middle of the night.

Liked: Very conveniently located in the Old Town, very close to the Pile Gate (which is the main drop off point for the airport bus) this is a homely setting for exploring Dubrovnik. The location is one of the best parts, however, the proprietor Marina gave us a warm welcome to the house along with a number of restaurant recommendations, which we much appreciated. The accommodation's best point is the kitchen/diner area at the top of the house, which is well kitted out with cooker, kettle, washing machine & fridge/freezer which would make it ideal for a longer stay. We were only there for 2 nights but still managed to make good use of the kitchen/diner. Also there is a stereo fully kitted out with a variety of CDs. The remainder of the accommodation is on the 2 remaining floors, both of which are double rooms. The only air-conditioning is in the kitchen/diner, which also adds to the usefulness of the space. However, in the bedroom we had, we only had a large fan (noisy) which we had to run at night. This is the main downside. The accommodation is nicely furnished with a shared bathroom for the 2 double rooms, although we found that the hot water seemed to run out quite fast for the shower. Marina works at the shop next door and is there for any questions in the day. All in all, if you can cope with lack of air-con in the bedrooms, the set up and location make it an ideal base to explore Dubrovnik and the wider area.

Liked: Excellent location and friendly service from Marina. It's more like a shared apartment as there's a bathroom and double bedroom on the 1st floor, another bedroom on the 2nd floor and a kitchen/dining/living room on the top floor with facilities for cooking and washing clothes. The room was very nice and clean, however the best thing about it was the location. It was perfect for exploring the old town and for quickly getting out and about in Dubrovnik being only 2 or 3 streets away from the Piles Gate. Marina is also very helpful and recommended various places to eat, drink and catch some sun to avoid the usual tourist traps, which is difficult in Dubrovnik, so that was much appreciated.

Liked: Very friendly manager when checking in. Apartment is in the centre of old town and based over 4 levels with 2 bedrooms on separate floors and a shared bathroom on another floor. Nice kitchen and lounge area (top floor), Apartment very clean and well maintained. Would make an ideal place to stay with friends/family. Supermarket, bakery, beach and city buses to port/bus station are all close by to apartment.

Disliked: Noise from the old town was a problem on the hot nights when the windows were wide open.
