Liked: Excellent place, nice rooms, great value for money, owners were friendly and welcoming. Good location for harbour, old town, beaches and Lapad Bay. Much quieter, more peaceful and less touristy than alternatives (e.g. Big hotels around Lapad Bay / Babin Kuk)

Liked: Very kind and helpful owners. There is a summer kitchen you can use. We had also a room with a balcony. We can definitely recomend this property!

Liked: Very friendly owners! Location is ok, not so far from 2 beaches, although the old town is reachable only by bus. The place is clean, the room is very nice with big bed and a balcony, tv and even a fridge.

Liked: Lovely place, great family that runs the house and great location for beaches! While it is a 40min walk to old town it is very close to some very lovely beaches and has a supermarket only 2min away. The great outdoor kitchen and table are perfect for self-catering. Would recommend to anyone who does not want to spend a fortune to stay in Dubrovnik and wants beaches, peace and quiet, and a less touristy atmosphere.

Liked: It was a family property, the staff were more like friendly grandparents, bringing us coffee, beer and homegrown grapes whenever we were around :) It was clean and more than worth the money we paid!

Liked: The place was quite easy to find after getting the bus from Pile Gate. The owners greeted us with a beer each and talked us through the the best things to do in Dubrovnik. They were very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: The fan in our room didn't work and their wasn't any air conditioning.

Liked: The man and his wife were super friendly. We were offered a beer and juice as well as some small fried fish on our arrival. The man explained to us on a map the location of everything. The apartment was PERFECT in every respect.

Disliked: None.

Liked: It has bedroom, dining room with full kitchen and bathroom, and a big terrace with table and chairs. It does not become to hot, because it is a bit down and whole day in shadow.

Disliked: Furniture is a bit old and smells like this.

Liked: The location is nice - a short walk and a bus ride to the old town, 5 - 10 minutes to one of two small beaches, and a 2-3 minute walk to a supermarket. The outdoor kitchen is great, our room was beautiful and clean with a nice view of the bridge. The family were all very nice to us. Overall, it was very pleasant.

Disliked: The first night the couple were screaming at each other down the hall which is a little uncomfortable but one of the hazards of staying with a family, I suppose. Laundry was 4 euros per use, wifi was 4 euros per day (and it's not hard to find free wifi around town).

Liked: The family were lovely, and really went out of their way to accomodate us. We arrived early, but that was no problem. Nice room with balcony, close enough to the old town, 5 minutes on the bus - but near a great beach.

Disliked: Nothing, it was great.

Liked: Hosts were personable, grandfather was particularly so with welcoming drink. Close to waterfront, market, beautiful neighborhood.

Liked: The staff were friendly and good room. Close to the sea where you can have a bath.

Disliked: All was perfect except for the location. Too far from the city center but you can take bus number 6 to the old town and be there in ten minutes.

Liked: A very friendly atmosphere, as if you were experiencing a true family home of a resident of dubrovnik. Beautiful kitchen area outside, amazing bedroom with great facilities, very friendly family.

Disliked: Organisation with paying but not a strong dislike at all.

Liked: The owners were very friendly and helpful. Because it was very hot on the day we were leaving the owner offered to drive us to the bus station to save us the 30-40 minute walk (although we wouldn't have minded walking really it would have been easy enough). Having a fridge in our room was very useful and the outdoor kitchen was really lovely. All facilities worked well and were very clean. The location was beautiful and quiet. A bit of a walk to the old town but doable. Buses were frequent and cheap if the walk isn't for you. So close to a beach with beautiful views.

Disliked: Perhaps the kitchen could have had more utensils, we ended up chopping vegetables with a pen knife we'd brought. I think we also upset the hosts accidentally by forgetting to shut and lock the door when we came in at night but, maybe due to the language barrier, the host hadn't told us this was expected and we left the door as we found it.

Liked: The owners of this property are very nice people and extremely accommodating. While their English may not be great, it was not something I was expecting and was a pleasant surprise. They were very helpful in showing us where everything was and where to go, and even shared beer, wine and grapa with us. Overall, I would recommend this fun, quiet place to others. Just be aware, that it is a bus ride away from Old Town (or a good sweaty walk).

Disliked: Unfortunately, the fan in our room was broken. It was pretty hot and humid so it made for a hot room while sleeping.

Liked: Very friendly when we arrived, offered us a drink and told us everything we need to know about Dubrovnik. We had our own apartment which was big, clean and had all the facilities we needed as well as our own patio!

Disliked: We got lost walking to the closet swimming beach because the map they gave us wasnt the greatest but once we found it, it was actually wasnt that far away if we knew where we were going.

Liked: Genuinely lovely family. Every family member would greet you and offer you homemade alcohol whenever they saw you! Even giving us a taste of their amazing BBQ when they were having a family cook up. The location is not near the Old Town, but that is easily reachable by bus. It is near the New Town, a 10 walk, and you can also walk to the Lapad beach area which is really beautiful. They have just got the Wi-Fi hooked up, which was awesome, and our en suite room was big, comfortable and like a little home away from home, with its cute furniture and nice TV. It's a peaceful area but with bars and restaurants nearby. Kitchen outside was great.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: This was, by far, one of the best hostels that I have ever stayed in! The hostel owners live just above the hostel with their family, so the entire place has a very homey, comfortable feel. Jozefina and her husband took care of our every need and then some- they thought of and suggested things that had never even crossed our minds. Villa Jozefina is also an incredible value for your money! There is a really nice, shaded outdoor kitchen for guests to use, and each room has a massive bed, mini fridge, and plenty of storage space. The private balcony attached to our room was an added bonus as well =-) The hostel is located in a residential section of Dubrovnik, but it's close to a supermarket (a cheap way to eat during your stay!), the beach and a promenade near Uvala Lapad full of restaurants and gelato stands. The amenities available near the hostel are all pretty reasonably priced, especially compared to the restaurants, supermarkets, etc. in Old Town.

Disliked: I have no complaints about my stay!
