Liked: Its nice and cosy, very homely and easily accessible

Liked: The location was superb - under 5 minutes to Pile Gate and around a 10 minute bus to the bus station. All rooms were ensuite and our room (No.2) also had cooking facilities which we weren't expecting

Disliked: Not much to dislike, only that the owner spoke very little English and although I'd confirmed the rooms a week before, he struggled to work out who went where

Liked: Proximity to old city. Having a kitchenette was great. As was a washing line outside our room. The owners were very helpful. Provided us with clean towels without us asking. The place felt very secure. Would definitely stay there again.

Disliked: Nothing really bug our shower did leak. Possibly not the best value for money but in general we found Dubrovnik very expensive anyway.

Liked: Excellent location, literally a hop, skip and a jump from Old Town. Travelling alone, I felt safe to walk back late at night. I had the single room which was small, but has a fridge/shower/toilet/aircon. Friendly owner.

Disliked: No big deal, but when I first arrived there was no response to the door bell. But managed to eventually find the owner - apparently I should have knocked on the door! So try this if you get no intitial response.

Liked: Great facilities, brilliant location for Old Town, easy to do your own cooking if you're on a budget!

Disliked: If you have noisy neighbours, the walls are quite thin and they can be heard. We had Australians talking and laughing until 5.30am in the morning! Fortunately I was tired enough to sleep through most of it but it got annoying once or twice.

Liked: In terms of facilities, the beds are comfortable, there is a nice common living room, and the hostel owner quite friendly

Disliked: location is a little far from the old town, on the main road, a little further than the hilton, away from the old town. however one does get to be away from all the tourists in that case

Liked: Very close to Old Town, cheap, roomy and clean.

Disliked: The staff were very hard to find, and I only saw them for around a minute when I first arrived.

Liked: Close to Dubrovnik Old Town and a very handy base for exploring the area. Much cheaper than a lot of accomodation on offer too.

Disliked: It was pretty basic, but this is the same for all places we stayed in Croatia, so can't really be too negative at all!

Disliked: I found the property a bit scary (as well as the person running he hotel at the time). It may however been because I was alone.

Liked: The room was big and clean and it felt more like a hotel than a hostel. The air conditioning in the room was greatly appreciated!

Disliked: The owner spoke little English but was incredibly keen to communicate. He was quite sweet. There was no sign outside the hostel indicating where it was which caused some confusion

Liked: Good location - very close to old city

Disliked: Our room was very small. We expected to get 3 single beds but had one double and one single and there was barely room to move around the room

Liked: Location was very good and 5min walk to Old Pile Gate. The staff were friendly (family run) and happy to answer any questions...very laid back.

Disliked: The room could have been a bit cleaner and would benefit from investing in some new bed sheets but it was a very traditional run. The bathroom was modern and new.

Disliked: 1) We booked a room for 4 and we got the one on the ground floor which has no window and had a really strong musty and damp odor. Some of our clothes smelled like that afterwords. 2) We saw a mouse near the front door steps

Liked: Just out of Old town, near bus stops to take you to and from the Port, where the boats drop you off/pick you up, easy walk into old town.

Liked: The location was quite good, it was only a few hundred meters from the old town. And there was a minimarket next door.

Disliked: The smell of mould in the room. Our room was also very small and not that clean.

Liked: Fantastic location, less than 5 minute walk to the Old Town. A bit tricky to find, there are no signs on the outside so make sure you have the address written down. Basic facilities but with local Croatian charm made this hostel well worth the money.

Disliked: The bottom level smelled a bit stale and damp.
