Liked: Great location and staff were excellent. I think the breakfast could be improved by providing one piece of fruit in place of multiple spreads but no complaints.

Liked: They technically don't have free wifi but if you go into the cafeteria area you can find a free wifi spot. Free breakfast was pretty good (it was rationed, but it was enough).

Liked: Right inbw Gruz and old town so you never really need the local bus. Close to food stores. In quiet neighboorhood. Bed frames are wooden

Disliked: NO WIFI. showers weren't on all levels. Feels like a mental hospital. they'll charge you 8 extra kuna for the youth hostel membership thing. Kind of hard to find, ask main Internet cafe in gruz (where buses and ferries come in) for directions

Liked: Reasonably close to the old city.

Disliked: Showers were terrible; shower curtains caused the floor to flood. It felt like a boarding school or something with many rules about breakfast, curfew etc. Only stay there if you must - no great atmosphere. Also, no official wifi, however there are neighbours whose you can hack.

Disliked: I didnt like the atmosphere. Very sterile and separated so quite quiet. staff werent overly helpful and no other facilities on offer. Also quite tricky to find!

Liked: This was the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at. The cleaning woman scrubbed down our room every day and cleaned after every shower. It also had late hours for Croatia and a very helpful staff. The breakfast was good, although rationed out in a slightly communist fashion.

Disliked: It was located a bit far from the city center and the breakfast hours couldn't be changed, even though most excursions or day trips left before 8 am.

Liked: Clean, quite a few blocks from the old town, but OK for public transport. Not fun for meeting people. Breakfast was fine, average hostel.

Liked: If you want to explore all of Dubrovnik, it's a good place to stay since it's right in the middle between the Old Town and the penisula. Very clean, very basic, but therefore slightly boring. I think it's more aimed at large groups of people. If you don't get the right room, it gets sticky in the Summer. You could do better but you could also do far worse.

Liked: Good, clean, one staff member very helpful. However, the hostel is very hard to find - we spent about an hour looking for it walking from the ferry terminal.

Liked: This place is good if you are wanting to stay in Dubrovnik for a night or two. The building is pretty characterless but the stuff are nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Is a ten minute walk to the Old Town and about 20 minutes to the bus station.

Liked: This was one of the better HI hostels in Croatia. The staff was friendly and it seemed like they were cleaning the bathrooms all day long. It is only a quick 10 minute walk to the Old Town along the water. Keep in mind that you have to pay about 20Kn per day extra for tourist taxes and a fee if you are not an HI member. Perhaps with the extra cost you can stay closer to town.

Liked: This is an alright hostel, but I would not advise for you to stay there in Summer. there are no fans and the air con is only in reception and the breakfast room. Everyone in our dorm was awake at 3am in the morning because it was so hot and no one could sleep. The staff were unable to help us fix this problem. This was a massive problem as the bulding is not designed for great air flow, and Dubrovnik is really hot!!!Other times of the year, when it is not at all hot, it would be good to stay in, as it is clean and safe.

Liked: In general, the hostel was fine, but nothing to rave about. The people working there were helpful and friendly. What none of us knew until my last night there (I stayed there for 4 nights) was that there was a kitchen downstairs that no-one used because we didn't know it was there!! The directions they give are CRAP so use google maps if you are going to stay there.

Liked: It was situated between the old and news towns, making both easily accessible. It was very clean. It should be noted that most people seem to stay here to party, so if you're a light sleeper you might want to check other options.

Liked: Hated this hostel!Although it does have a good location (very close to the old town), everything else about this hostel was poor.No laundry service, which is hard to believe for a YHA. No internet either. The rooms were clean but no character what so ever, felt like we were at boarding school.The staff were incredibly unhelpful. When asked where a street was the guy first said he didnt know, when we asked for a street map he circled an area miles from where we actually wanted to be - just to get rid of us! He also didnt know any bus routes and seemed to hate his job! There is also a curfew which isnt mentioned on here.We used this as a dumping ground for our bags as we toured Dubrovnik, so in that sense it served its purpose. However if you are there for more than a night, dont touch it with a bargepole!RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH!

Liked: No character and pretty boring place - "breakfast" was crap. Stay at "fresh sheets" if you're looking for a cheap hostel in the old town.
