Liked: It was in a quiet neighbourhood. They have lots of parking. They offer internet. They have a pretty clean pool and deck to lounge. There's also a supermarket right beside the property.

Disliked: It's really far from Tamarindo town which is where all the action is. There aren't any restaurants close by. It's about a 20mins walk to Tamarindo. There's a bar next door but it was closed probably because of the Christmas holidays. The owner has 2 dogs which one barked at every person that passed by the property. Be prepared to be awaken at any hour of the night. Late risers, definitely not a place for you to sleep in. Don't know if the sheets get cleaned regularly but they are thin and you just never know what's underneath the sheets.

Liked: The owner was awesome when we got ahold of him. He was extremely helpful in anything we wanted...there are awesome hammocks and it's a beautifully built, decorated quiet place just a minute's walk from the beach.

Disliked: This proved to be a minor detail since another person who lived there was extremely helpful, but just as a warning: to get your key you might need to call the owner once you get to there, so make sure you have a way of making a quick phone call.

Liked: I stayed here with 6 of my friends for our senior year Spring Break trip and it was perfect. We absolutely loved it. We loved how small and personal it was, we felt like we had the pool all to ourselves! It was so much better than staying at one of the larger resorts in Tamarindo. Federico was great and gave us lots of tips on places to go and things to see. There was a (slightly overpriced) market just two doors down which was really great and convenient. Location-wise we checked out Playa Langosta our first day. It's a quiet, more personal beach than in Tamarindo and is literally a 2 minute walk from Sunset Inn. To get to Tamarindo, you can walk, but most days we tried to catch a cab. That was probably the only inconvenience of the Sunset Inn, always having to travel into and from Tamarindo. But it was definitely worth it and if I went back I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Liked: Close to the beach. Nice clean rooms. The hotel is not all finished but very nice for a short stay at the beach. tamarindo is very close.
