 We loved that it was an easy walk to the main part of Tamarindo and that it was very clean. What we didn't like about the hostel is that we didn't feel as secured as other places we stayed at. There wer no safes in the room, and anybody can just come in the hostel. There was no main person in the front. There wasn't even a "front" or a front desk. There wasn't a staff person that was available for questions for tours or shuttles, even though they advertise tours that they can set up for you. Also, the one and only door to your room is a sliding glass door, which isn't very safe, and the curtain they had on it can be seen through if the light outside is on. The hostel is very clean and within close proximity to town but they can work a lot on making guests feel secure while staying there. I don't think we would stay there again, however, we would recommend it for others who are on a budget while traveling.

Very clean and comfortable! The staff was extremely helpful. If you stay here, be sure and walk across the street to the Dragon Fly Restaurant...one of the best meals I've had in my life! Upscale, classy place with American pricing, but worth every penny.
There are not a lot of extra services/facilities at the hotel, and we only stayed one night, but it was quiet and peaceful...we didn't see any partying going on, but nor would we have joined in if there was...it's a great place for a couple wanting some quiet time alone. I would most definitely stay there again!

Location was excellent. Manager was extremely helpful. We felt safe and our personal belonging were secure. It was kept clean. Everyone we met there was outgoing and friendly.

The room was nice. It was quietly located in the center of town, so you could get rest and walk a short distance to the beach/party/bar. The owners were also very nice. They called another hostel when we needed somewhere else to stay.

The staff is extremely helpful and very kind. If we needed anything, they were always available. The location is wonderful-- nice and quiet too. The sheets were changed everyday and the other travelers we met were very friendly. My boyfriend and I loved our stay and would definitely recommend Coco Rico to anyone!
