Liked: Personal, nice ppl running it. International.

Disliked: A bit too far from downtown (20 min to walk). The PCs are too slow!

Liked: Great location and perfect atmosphere! The bar stays open all night for those that want to sit and talk with a cold beer in their hand. Everyone was super friendly and I would recomend this place to anyone who asks!

Liked: I stayed here for 4 days, and it was really fun. I was the first Turkish citizen who stayed there! The owners and the staff were great, funny, cheerful... All the places that they recomended me to go were amazing places. The atmosphere was also fantastic, staff doesn't let you get bored! It's possible to get there from the airport after a 20 minute ride by the public bus which costs only 1 dolar. Hope to see them again in december this year :)

Liked: I stayed here on 3 different occasions during my trip to Central America. It felt like my home base and the enthusiastic owners always seem to attract a good mix of other travelers, which was helpful when I was figuring out where to go. It was also nice having the big park just across the street!

Disliked: I heard quite a few stories about people getting mugged in San Jose, but it was my understanding that this hostel is in one of the safer parts of the city.

Liked: actually ended up staying here twice. have stayed in both the dorms and the private. good friendly staff that have lots of knowledge about the area. kitchen needs improving in our opinion as it is quite small. the hostel has a good vibe and a wealth of info on offer. free shot is always a bonus. they also let us store our bags for free for a month as we went to a conservation program on the coast. (la tortuga feliz) - google it

Liked: This place has an awesome atmosphere and really fun staff--not to mention a great bar where you get a welcome shot when you check in! Even their pup, Rocky is a sweetie who will greet you every time you get back to the hostel. It's quirky and entertaining and never a dull moment at Galileo. From people cooking delicious smelling foods to playing the stairwell pipes as an instrument with some flip flops, I had a really great time. It is a wonderful location, as well. Safe neighborhood with some pretty awesome restuarants (Soda Tapias was yummy!) and only a 2 mile walk from downtown (definitely worth the walk instead of taking a taxi). I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Costa Rica.

Liked: Fun, friendly and helpful staff give the hostel a great atmosphere. One thing to note for travellers is that you can only buy alcohol from the hostel. You can't bring your own into the hostel. Was a bit of a surprise, but I guess they are the cheapest hostel in town so they have to make a bit of money somehow.
