Nosara is located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica on the Nicoya Peninsula of Guanacaste province. Nosara is surrounded by mountains, lush tropical forests, waterfalls and rivers and is a legal game reserve.
Playa Guiones, Pelada, Nosara and Ostional form a chain of nearly 12 miles of unspoiled beaches and offer numerous opportunities for discovery, adventure or rest and relaxation.
Nosara is one of the oldest communities and is an ideal place for nature lovers. Surfers come from all over the world to ride the waves of Nosara. Hotels and private houses are surrounded by lush tropical vegetation distributed generously. Nosara offers an interesting selection of restaurants, holiday accommodation, spa and health services. In Nosara, the residents and visitors are obliged to protect the natural environment and preserve it.
Three beaches belong to Nosara:
The beach of Playa Nosara is Guiones. 6 km of white sand running from Punta Pelada to Punta Guiones in the south. This is where the surfers.
North of Playa Guiones is the picturesque beach of Playa Pelada. At the northern end rugged cliffs jut out where you can take a natural shower. South of Playa Pelada can lie in the tidal pools at low tide in the warm water.
Nosara is a long dark sand beach that stretches from Punta Nosara to Ostional in the Boca Nosara. Local fishermen often come here and Tico families. Before the Rio Nosara flows into the ocean you will find lush mangrove with numerous birds and wildlife. At best, this Reserva Biologica Nosara be explored by kayak. The Nosara beach is easily accessible at low tide across the Rio Nosara easy. A wonderful view and a perfect place to enjoy nature in peace.
The small village of Nosara is a small traditional village with grocery stores, restaurants, churches, bars, post office, doctor, disco and a football field. Located in the village is the runway of the small airport of Nosara. The village of Nosara is located 6 km inland, near the Rio Nosara.
