David is just a sweetheart. He was so helpful with driving directions and tourist tips. The atmosphere was very inviting and the free internet was a huge help. The bathroom was very nice and clean with hot water and clean sheets and a very comfortable bed. The location is just a 5 minute walk to the center of town with restaurants, shops, banks, grocery store, etc. Would recommend to anyone!

David and Elena, the owners, were extremely nice and were very helpful in helping us book our tours. Every morning they had eggs, bread, and fresh fruit for you to make your own breakfast which is included in the cost of the room. The rooms were clean and well maintained.

David the owner was particularly friendly and helpful. Private room was nice. Hot showers. Only downside was the other staff who really could not be bothered to help you! Very quiet and not great for meeting others!

The owners are really laid back and very friendly. They helped us very much with the planning of our activities. For people who come here we also recommend to do horseback riding with Sabine.

David the owner is very nice and helpful. the hostel is located a 1 minute from downtown, close to the supermarket, so it s very convenient. The rooms with the private bathroom are great, very clean and comfortable. very good value. We had a quick look at the room with shared bathroom and they look very decent too and the shared bath were clean. There is a kitchen where you can cook, Internet downstairs, hamac and David will give you good advice about what to do/avoid in the city. would definitely come back there!

Great owners, and totally decent room. You get what you pay for. No t.v. or clock. Also, lots of bugs but not really the hostels fault (tip, keep the lights to a minimal to deter the bug issue).

Highly recommend this place! We have been traveling for 5 months and this was SUCH a clean, good valued, TrAnQuiLo place to stay.. the showers were hot with great pressure, too.

Ennglish speaking, helpful caretaker. Can book all tours/activities. Free internet and good breakfast of fruit, eggs, toast and jam and tea/coffee. Use of well equipped kitchen. Great value for money and close to town (only 2 min walk) without having to be in the busiest part.

Loved that the owner is amazingly friendly and helpful, he did a great job helping us get around town and set up our excursions. Everything was clean as well.

We had a private room with a queen sized bed and a shared bathroom on the first two nights and a private bath on the last two nights. Everything was clean. The owners are very nice and helpful. We had a continental breakfast every morning --- coffee, toast, jam, fresh fruit, juices and eggs we could cook ourselves in the kitchen (my favorite part!!!). This was included in the price. There was also a huge windy patio upstairs that I loved. I felt 100% safe and comfortable there. It was a couple blocks from the main street in town. I would suggest a pair of ear plugs because the streets are VERY noisy because of all the motorbikes. It's very windy in the mountains so the rooms are all very cool at night. Great place!!!

The owner, David, is extremely friendly and very helpful with organising things to do around Monteverde.

Free Wi-FI!! The owner David and his family are great. Totally in touch with the Costa Rican scene and will point you in the right direction of stuff to do. Rooms were clean, breakfast cool, and the price was right--ZipLine BABY!!!!!

The people who own it are very friendly. Loved the private patio and room was very comfortable. Showers were hot which was great because it was quite cold and windy in Monteverde. It was also a bonus to have free internet available. We had booked a tour ourselves and it had gotten mixed up, the owners stepped in and arranged alternate transportation for us gratis. Also very convenient that you can book over the internet and pay by credit card, without an additional fee being charged. Quite unusual for Costa Rica and a real bonus to be able to arrive knowing you have a place to stay.
