Jeanne's house is an attractive structure set amongst mango, banana, pejibaye, cashew, start fruit and other tropical fruit trees and sits on the edge of the rainforest. The house is outfitted with six beautiful bamboo bunk beds, two double beds, five Mayan hammocks, running water, electricity, a flush toilet, a gorgeous bamboo composting toilet, two beautiful and private passively solar heated showers, one indoor shower and an outdoor shower. The house accompanies 65 acres of protected forest, six kilometers of trails, a 60-foot cascade, views to the national park, and beautiful swimming holes. Jeanneââ‚â„¢s is also home to our native hardwood nursery.

Our structures are built using contemporary and traditional natural building methods and include the use of bamboo, cob, light clay and fallen trees found in the surrounding forest. Our building methods strive to minimize the impact on the surrounding environment.

The main house is set on our 235-acre private wildlife refuge and features 7 kilometers of trails, abundant wildlife, waterfalls, rivers, swimming holes and beautiful forests that border the La Cangreja National Park. The house is less than a 1 minute walk to town and contains 3 rooms, Robin and Tim's (the owners) room, a room with a double and a single bed, and a room with a double bed. Rooms are airy, light and comfortable, with custom built cedar shutters that fold to the outside. There are 6 Mayan hammocks on the porches in which to read a book or nap. Guests at the main house share a bathroom with Robin and Tim. The house has 1 flush toilet, and 1 composting toilet. The main house is generally the most active place at the Ranch, and where all meals are served. It also contains the kitchen's gardens, an earthen oven, an official home-made ping-pong table, and plenty of space to read, write and relax.
