Liked: I loved the hammock porch overlooking the ocean. In the evenings everyone gathers out there to eat, maybe drink some beers from the bar, listen to great, chill music, and get to know each other. Everyone including the staff were incredibly friendly and laid-back. This is my favorite hostel I've ever stayed at, even though I had to share a room. I also liked having free calls to the U.S.

Liked: when i checked in They did not tell me that the shower in my dorm doesn't work. i had to go to the main building to shower or down the stairs to a shower without the possibility to lock it. So the conditions with showers were awfull. The atmosphere were great. you can have some beer for a good price at the hotel bar and meet great people. but the hostel is situated far from the beach as well as from bars or clubs. but that is not that a big problem, because you have to walk just a few minutes to get to the busstation.

Liked: The staff was amazing! Especially the American girl (can't remember her name) who was sitting with us, very friendly and helpful. The view was also very good!

Disliked: The dorms are not super clean and the shower was not working. I recommend staying in the four-bed dorm rooms that are located in the main building.

Liked: Awesome view. Full kitchen available for guests. Conrad or other staff member always available. 2 computers in reception area are equipped for Skype. Property offers free calls to the US. Near bus stop to get to Manuel Antonio National Park. Great price!

Disliked: Only cold water in the dorm room bathroom. I think the electric water heater on the shower head was broken; probably a temporary situation. There are other showers on site that likely have hot water. It´s a little away from the park, but really isn´t a problem since it´s near a bus stop.

Liked: Great place. Fun, chilled vibe. Owner Conrad is a super nice guy and helpful. Views are beautiful and Manuel Antonio is paradise. Would definitely recommend.

Liked: Me and my gf have been travelling in CR for about 4 months. We've been to Manuel Antonio twice. Means that we've visited ALOT of different hostels. At first sight we were a bit sceptic, cus the location looks a bit "off". Turns out we were sooo wrong! The first thing that met us was the AMAZING view from the porch, people chilling in the hammocks listening to feelgood music. We waited for Conrad to arrive, the hostel manager. I'd give him the "Hostel Manager of the year" award if one existed. He got us all set up at the 4bed dorm wich was unbelieveble clean, and the beds were the BEST we've slept in during all 4 months :D Pillows.. sooo soft :D The place had a nice open spaced kitchen next to the reception and the chill out corner with TV, tons of dvds, drums and other instruments :) Vista Serena is a 3min uphill walk from the bus station which takes u to the beach (one of the nicest ones in CR). Supermarket and laundry service is also within a 5 min walk. All in all this place easily deserves a Top3 spot of all hostels in Costa Rica. And no1 in Manuel Antonio :)

Liked: It was small, and the lack of space meant it was easy to get to know other people as everyone spent the evenings having some beers on the patios.The owners suggested nice places to see and to eat, and it was generally safe in the hostel.

Disliked: The dorm rooms were large (13 beds per room, as described) but there was only one toilet (which also had the one shower in it) in the dorm I was staying in. This meant you often had to wait both in the mornings and in the afternoons for the shower (it was rainy season when I went, so, in the afternoons when people arrived back at c. 3 30pm, everyone wanted a shower to warm up).
