Sol y Mar backpacker’s hostel and apartments is located in the heart of Manuel Antonio and is a quiet secure, comfortable and private, but with lots of friendly people around.

We are a friendly and social hostel- there is almost always someone in the community kitchen, watching TV, surfing the Internet, or studying Spanish. We are located about a block away from COSI (the Costa Rican Spanish Institute) and there are several other high quality, affordable and accredited Spanish language programs nearby. if you wish to learn our language

Please feel free to practice your Spanish with us anytime, it helps us to keep up on other languages and customs, and make friends with our guests.

You can enjoy watching the titi and white face monkeys, iguana's, sloths and humming birds passing through our tropical gardens most days, and we are just minutes from the beach, surfing, diving and sport fishing, white water rafting, canopy tours, etc.

We have dormitory and private rooms per night with fan, private entrance and hot water. We also offer rooms with a double bed, and cable TV which can sleep up to 6 people.

We also have air-conditioned suites with a full kitchen, double bed, and cable TV. So whatever style of accommodation you are looking for in Manuel Antonio, you can find something here to accommodate your tastes and budget.

Location Information

Sol y Mar backpackers is located just a few steps away from buses, grocery stores, restaurants and is 30 minutes walking distance from the beach, or the main bus terminal. We are also only about 20 minutes from the airport in Quepos.

Taxis here are very reasonably priced and only charge $3-$5 from Quepos to Manuel Antonio or to one of the many other beaches nearby, secluded and private, or full of people and positive energy, surfing, scuba diving, sport fishing, or just relaxing in the sun.
