Eduardo is super nice and helpful. Even though it's kind of a basic, bare-bones hostel, his art gives it color and character.

I liked the atmosphere...art, comfort, community. The owner, Eduardo, was very friendly and helpful. The room & bathroom were clean and comfortable. there is no internet but a cheap internet cafe just around the corner and a supermarket for cooking in the kitchen at the hostel.

the owner is an artist and displays his beautiful work. the rooms are decorated with art and other unique items. located close to central area with restaurants and shops.

Hotel Cortez Azul is homey and comfortable, and the owner, Eduardo, is friendly, interesting, extremely helpful, and speaks excellent English. The hotel has a beautiful garden, a well-equpped, communal outdoor kitchen, and a very central, convenient location. Eduardo will help you get around to all the things you want to see in the area. He is a wonderful sculptor and a personable host. Our son enjoyed watching him work in his studio. We felt very much at home at Cortez Azul, staying there for several days at the beginning and end of our trip to Costa Rica. We will definitely stay there again when we return to Costa Rica.

THe atmosphere, with all the artworks. THe fact that the owner is an artist. If you love art, this is a great place to stay. The owners love art and talking about it.

Extremely cute hostel with a gorgeous open air kitchen and patio for hanging. The manager Eduardo was very kind and helpful and went WAY out of his way to help us when our car accidently got locked in a parking garage. We will definetely stay there again. It is a perfect spot to stay coming in or out of Costa Rica if you want to avoid the traffic of San Jose.
