Liked: Great breakfast. Relaxed and nice atmosphere. The only drawback is its out of town and you need a 15 minute bus to get into Alajuala but its not a big deal. Hieke the owner is warm, helpful, and takes interest in her guests.

Liked: I found the host and hostess to be very personable and friendly. I was so impressed that when I made my return trip back to the states my family and I stayed at the Coconut House. We arrived at dinner time and were pleased to find that The Coconut house provided us with the choice of having dinner there. Como no? It was very good.I will stay there on my next visit to Costa Rica

Liked: Having no steps and being close to dining area were great for disabled person. The breakfast was exceptional, with homemade bread and wonderful ham and special cheeses to offer plus a variety of jams.

Liked: Private Accomodations were very good in regard to privacy. Some problems with bath room sewer type smell. This was masked over by putting moth balls behind the toilet, rather than checking the sink traps for the real problem. The owners are very helpful and the place certainly caters to German visitors. We enjoyed our stay there as it is a very quiet location quite some distance from the center of town. Local bus service was just around the corner, so in 10 minutes you were close to the central park.

Liked: The owner is the most helpful and gracious hostess! She runs her place with a perfect yet relaxed efficiency. This is the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. The rooms/bathrooms are immaculate and tastefully appointed. The beds were very comfortable, and there was no city noise to contend with in the quiet resedential neiborhood. She'll arrange tours and transport at honest prices. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty with fresh baked breads, delicious fruits, eggs, cheese, and meats. I have only praise for this establishment and will definitley return for future stays!
