Liked: The hostel is very clean. The cleaners clean your room daily and make your bed. The cleaning ladies are constantly cleaning the hostel. Right on Muri beach, best location on island.

Disliked: Front desk lady a bit grumpy.

Liked: I got an upgrade!! So I was very happy with the price of what I got. The location was awsome and the staff very friendly.

Disliked: I think that the Reception was only open from 9am - 1pm so trying to get a hold of someone out of these hours is hard. I remember trying to email a few times to confirm my booking but had some slight delays.

Liked: The location on the beach

Disliked: Nobody was at the reception to welcome us and show us the amenities, because the dévotion is open only from 9am to 1pm. And we arrive at 3pm. Plus the shuttle from the airport isnt free anymore since January 2011. Then they made an overbooking and we had to look for a new hotel without their help!

Liked: The location

Disliked: It could be an amazing place with a little care and updating. The rooms are fine and clean. The communual area isn't and there is no hot water to do dishes. Sometimes the gas runs out and you can't cook. That is if you have your own lighter tot light the cooker. Most of what is described on the website is not available and they have over booked so we have to move out early. There is often people sleeping in the communal area as they have over booked. So be sure to double check you jhave accomodation if you have booked there.

Liked: Fantastic position right on the lagoon, good facilities. There was a tsunami warning and the staff were excellent

Liked: It was located in one of the best beaches in the island, and it has a lot of services near, plus a very friendly staff and you can meet hips of different people.

Disliked: The bathrooms were shared (men and women together) and it wasn't as clean as i would like (it wasn´t dirty, but I prefer cleaner ones). Bu the rooms were clean at lease.

Liked: We stayed for about a week in one of the studio units. The unit was basic, but fine. Vara's is on Muri beach - one of the main beaches on the island. There were lots of places to eat nearby and there is also a supermarket nearby too. You can also catch the bus into the main town. It runs until about 11. There is lots to do - swiming, snorkelling, exploring the island on bikes.

Liked: I was asked to be moved closer to the beach and the main property after finding myself in one of the hillside bungalows and I ended up with a gorgeous little studio which was perfect for me.

Liked: Right on the beach - amazing views everyday. My room was never locked but i had no issues with my stuff in the room. Nice group of people staying while i was there. Right on the beach and able to do lagoon cruises and snorkelling from here.

Liked: The office was most of the times closed. And the stuff was very, very unfriendly and not helpfull at all...!!! For us it made a really bad overtaste for the whole stay.Despite that the location directly at Muri Beach is great. Dorms are not recommended. Self contd studios are with a fully equiped kitchen, nice and clean. If you wanna go, I would suggest to take one oft these as a couple.

Liked: The location and Lilly,the drive service lady was very friendly and on time,even picked us up in the middle of the night when our plane was late.However the lady from the reception was very unfriendly in general, and tried to deceive us in the end.paying a key deposit on the first day, she put down on the papers that we didn't.so we had to argue to get our money back...other than that we enjoyed our stay,it's a nice place right at the beach!

Liked: The location of varas was the best, I also met some lovely people here. The cleaners were nice aswell. I did have my running shoes stolen. I would stay here again, maybe try accommadation on the hill?

Liked: luckily we stayed at hillside apartments, had house, pool and bbq to ourselves as it was very quiet on island. Dorms in main hostel were not very clean and cooking equipment old and worn out. Location on beach good, but any beach on the island is good to be on.

Liked: Fantastic location and the dorms are really clean! However, on rainy days a TV would be much appreciated, and the fridges in the kitchen need to be cleaned out more frequently. Lockers would be good but despite that it was an awesome place to stay!

Liked: when we arrived we were upgraded for free due to overbooking, hope it happens to you! other than that, the office opening hours are terrible (close at three) and the staff weren't very informative nor particularly bothered. redeeming feature was the tour operator, matt, really nice chap, very helpful.

Liked: Very nice location, Muri Beach with its lagoon is really beautiful (I guess the best at Rarotonga). View of sunrise over Pacific ocean almost from bed :-). Free airport pickup. Only slow and expensive internet connection was a small disadvantage, but really small.
