Frequent minibuses (collectivos) go from Carrera 5 in Santa Marta to Carrera 2 or 3 Taganga at a cost of 1,200 Columbian pesos. The journey takes about 15 minutes and is a folklorique ride. A taxi from the bus terminal to Taganga between 8,000 and 10.000 COP, as it is from anywhere in Santa Marta.
For cruise ship passengers arriving in Santa Marta there are plenty of taxis and mini-buses waiting in a gated police controlled area to take you. Keep your passport in a safe place and always carry a photocopy of it.
