Liked: I actually stayed 4 instead of three nights. It's on a quiet residential/commercial property street. There's a really good restaurant around the corner and the food is bueno. There's a pool and the place is close to the metro so that you can get anywhere you need to.

Disliked: For those of us who are no 20-something, it is a bit noisy. One night it went on until close to 5 am. I got no sleep. I was a bit surprised considering the posted signs. Way too noisy. One bathroom to be shared by a lot of folks upstairs. get in early or no hot water.

Liked: The staff was very helpful. There was a problem with our room, so they not only made us a reservation at a different hostel and paid the difference (the room cost twice as much) and cab fare, but they offered to let us come back and use the pool. The pool and whole hostel is very clean, and wi-fi and use of the computers are free as well. Also free coffee. There are several hammocks and other things to lounge about on, which is a nice touch. It is also in a very nice, safe residential neighborhood near a metro station. It may be a bit of a walk to the action in El Poblado but a taxi ride will be cheap and quick.

Disliked: The walking directions are pretty vague; we found ourselves walking up and down hills on the wrong side of the avenue until we figured out how to get to the hostel. That is the only thing keeping me from going this hostel a perfect rating. It is very close to the Aguacatala metro station, but it can be confusing to try to find your way there for the first time.

Liked: Like a big house- really friendly and fun, but a bit homely too. Small enough you pretty much get to know everyone staying there.

Disliked: Location was a bit out of the way so had to get taxis everywhere.

Liked: The hostel was a short walk from the Metro making it easy to get around Medellin. There were two large supermarkets within walking distance. The hostel had great facilities, the internet was fast, lots of dvds to choose from and the kitchen was very good. We also enjoyed cooling off in the pool in the afternoons . The beds were comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Disliked: The down side to the hostel was that there weren't many other guests there so it's not a great place to meet people.

Liked: Awesome Hostel and incredible City, I was planning to stay just 1 night, but Medellín has an amazing vibe. Waypoint is one of the best hostels in my trip, close to the Metro station so you can go everywhere. Everything is like new. Is not a party hostel but i loved drink beer in the hammock in front of the pool. Everyone has to come to Medellín and stay in Waypoint.

Liked: 1) Staff was helpful (though only one of the two staff members spoke English). 2) The hostel is in a residential area so it's fairly quiet. 3) One of the cheapest private rooms in Medellin.

Disliked: 1) My first night there, one of the owners decided to have a party at the hostel with some of his high school friends. They were quite loud up until about midnight. Sorry but this sort of behavior is highly inappropriate, particularly since there are no shortages of bars and clubs in Medellin. The hostel should be for guests, not for the owners to have a party, 2) The location is a bit strange and it's hard to find your way around. I was constantly getting lost walking to and from the hostel. Taxi drivers couldn't find it either which means you end up paying a lot more for a taxi than you should. 3) There's nothing nearby which means you have to walk at least 15-20 minutes to get to restaurants, bars etc. That's assuming you don't get lost along the way!
