Omshanty

Omshanty is a Jungle-lodge, located 11 km far from of the noisy town of Leticia.
In a 2ha farm you will found our cabins where we lodge the visitors who come looking for peace, wild nature and indigenous culture.
We provide several types of accomodation (hammocks, dormitory, private cabins...). We also offer the most real and autentique trips in the jungle, and the largest information of the area in every sense, you can found in Leticia -true, real, updated-. Our goal: make your trip the best!

Comfortable, spacious, quiet and intimate cabins available in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Your best ' base camp 'to explore the rainforest in depth without losing the comfort and communications (public buses stops at the main gate of Omshanty each 25min).

In Omshanty find a place to relax and enjoy nature at its best. Nestled jungle Uitotos our indigenous neighbors, with the ones we work directly (80% of our staff is indigenous) and the forest itself will make you get more interested and want to further explore this natural paradise.

In Omshanty we offer four types of accommodation.
1.- The first, favorite and most requested by visitors are independent our comfortable cabins. They have 1 double bed and 2 simple beds with option of 1 more simple extra bed. Each cabin have a livingroom, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, porche with hammock and bbq. Equipped with electricity, potable (drinking) water, bedding sets and bath, table, chairs, kitchen stuff and mosquito net are undoubtedly the most complete option on the outskirts of Leticia. All of them are independent, private, quiet, surrounded by gardens and located in a 20.000m2 farm and in aa natural environment that will fascinate you.
2.- The second option is a shared cabin that has the same facilities than the other but this one have 6 simple beds and "it works" as a "traditional dormitory" on common hostels.
3.- The third option, for low-budget travellers is lodging at our "Hammock area", where you can found a place (simple structure covered with roof) were you can sleep in hammocks. Whe provide the hammocks but if you bring it you can get up to 50% dto.
4.-In our facilities there are designated areas for camping with tent.

Accommodation Information

All our accomodations are inside the 2ha jungle land were we are located. A peaceful piece of jungle perfect located and communicated by public transportation from the main city of Leticia (each 22min there is a bus).
We offer serveral types of lodging. Our best are the cabins. Each cabin has a sleeping room, living room (with fan), bathroom (with potable water), kitchen full equiped, porche with hammock and bbq.
Each cabin has a double bed and two simple ones. Except the shared cabin that have 6 simple beds.
We also offer hammock and camping accomodation in special places adapted for that pourpose. In those places there are bbq for cooking and a table with bench to seat. Those areas share a bathroom & shower.
Our offer covers all the lodging options available in the region at one place.
We also accept and have place for small groups (20-30 people).

Location Information

We are located in the outskirts of the noisy town of Leticia. Surrounded and inside the jungle you will found our land. A "small" 20.000m2 of wild nature were we share with the birds, butterflies, monkeys ad other wildlife that pass through or live with us in the land.
Leticia is the capital of the Colombian Amazon department. It´s a river town located at the "upper Amazon" as it´s know this area and also it´s supposed to be the area best conserved along the Amazon river.
You can find us 11km away from Leticia´s city and 9 from the airport (20 min. public transportation)...
In front of the Uitoto indigenous community usually know as "Comunidad del km11" (km 11th indigenous community), which true name is "Patio de ciencia dulce" ('sweet science courtyard').
