Liked: The property was in good close proximinty to the jungle.

Disliked: Due to the distance from civilisation (Leticia) 11km away, you are restricted to all the hostal facilities, can get expensive with travel costs to and from Leticia when wanting to eat out, shop or book a tour. Was in regular contact with the owner before arrival through e-mail, he was quite helpful with advice on transport from the airport. Upon arrival I was expecting to see him and talk in English. Instead I was greeted by a local indian, my spanish is very limited. The owner was away. I thought the property was quite expensive for such basic facilities, water ran out, interupted power no electric at times understandable due to location, but unfortunately no fridge in the room or any seating to just sit down, apart from hammock. Taxis were apprehensive about driving back on the lonely road at night, but didnt encounter any problems. Afterwards actually found far better accomodation much cheaper in Leticia.

Liked: Amazing location right in the jungle and good prices for activities in and around the Amazon.

Disliked: Quite difficult to access as road is being built so walking is the only option for about 3k but guests are provided with torches and road is always clear of jungle.

Liked: This hostel is perfect for someone that likes to hike and prefers a rustic setting to stay. The staff speaks English. Kris is very nice.

Disliked: The previous reviews raved about the owners. The hostel is now under new management. It is located in the jungle but there are homes nearby and the music from these places can be heard at night. The hostel is 11 km from Leticia and another 4 km from the main road. The dirt road is currently under repair so the only way in or out is by walking or motorcycle. After A rain it is terrible. A fellow guest fell on the motorcycle ride in and had mud on her suitcase and clothes. An offer was made to clean the clothes but it never happened. The ensuite shower did not work. I was told it wold be repaired the day I arrived. It was fixed two days later. An offer of free breakfast was made but never happened It takes about an hour to arrive from Leticia so plan meals accordingly. They seemed a bit expensive at the hostel

Liked: Amazing location in the middle of the jungle. Great hosts who look after you like family.

Disliked: The good location could also be a disadvantage to some people. This place is ISOLATED, No ifs or buts about it! Leticia is more then 30 minutes away and you need to haul yourself and your luggage on a 3 or 4 km hike before you reach the paved road from which you can take a comby to Leticia. Also, there are no restaurants or shops around so you are completely dependent on your hosts for ALL your food and drink.

Liked: It´s like your own home in the Jungle, great people they were super helpful and friendly, would highly recommend you visit!!!!

Disliked: It was a little way out from Leticia (30mins) but this was only relevant on the first day when i arrived, after that the transport link to and from the town was simple and cheap

Liked: If you want very laid-back, no frills, jungle homestay experience, then Albergue is for you. It`s in the middle of nowhere, with nothing (well very little) to do, and meals provided - so no stress about wondering what to do next or where to go eat, but also, as I`ve said, nothing to do and only one place to eat. We liked it alot, and ended up staying one more night, but we were also glad to get back to bustling Leticia afterwards.

Disliked: Owner Steve, his wife Elena and the kids are lovely lovely people. Be aware it is difficult to organise anything from there yourself, without relying on their help. Steve was away when we arrived, and wasn`t a massive help when he arrived back. He`s a very nice guy, but not as helpful as we`d been led to believe.

Liked: The hostel is located in the jungle. So it is not really possible to go out at night (or during daytime) without taking a taxi to Leticia or Tabatinga. The location is perfect to start your hike in the jungle. Food cooked for you is good in the morning and at night. The (also english speaking) owners know a lot about the area and can tell you about the do's and don'ts.

Disliked: RICHARD left no negative feedback.

Liked: A fantastic place to stay, swinging in your hammock in the jungle with all its sounds, and the family pets to boot (I don't mean to kick) - the dog, the cat with its kittens, a macaw and a tucan. Brilliant. Steve and Elena were so friendly and helpful, and I went on a tour with Steve on the Amazon which was superb. Can't rate it highly enough. I was very sad to leave. Thanks Steve and Elena.

Disliked: Nolan left no negative feedback.
